Well I have set a personal goal to lose at least 20 lbs by April. Now see, I have no problem from starting a diet and exercising, but I get tormented by exercising. I tried starting up b4 but my sob bro would constantly torment me about it laugh at the fact that I'm trying to lose weight. Currently I'm 155 lbs 15 years old (Yes I know, not that bad but still, my thighs are like 8 inches wide when I sit), 16 in may. I really want something that will work, and how do I deal with a skinny bro who mocks you when you try to lose weight? EDIT--Also I can't really change What I eat for dinner cuz parents control that and for Breakfast, in my family its either poptarts or nothing, so idk how in the world to start eating healthier when the only meal I control is Lunch, and even then all I have to choose from is crappy school food that goes into the 1000's of calories very easily, even the salads have fried chicken!Really I just want to be skinny, right now my gut sticks out by about 2.5~3 inches (But when I suck it in its flat but it comes about 1 inch off my waist, but I'm tired of doing that), I want that to go away. IDC about being some muscle stud, I just wanna be skinny. Also, in my lifestyle, I tend to eat a little more than average, so I'm wondering, If I cut out those 500-700 extra calories a day, how much weight loss will that contribute to? And also, a conundrum, I added up the calories of all the food I have consumed, and how much a I burn. 1700 input vs 2000 output, so shouldn't I already be losing something??? And also I was in the marching band, and I had a very good workout from, but i didn't lose any weight from it!!! When school was in, 9+ hrs of exercise per week and during band camp, 5-12hrs of pure exercise for 3 weeks straight. HOW DID I NOT LOSE WEIGHT???? I MEAN WE WERE WORKED HARD!!!!And also, I know my goal is April, but I want to lose weight as fast as possible w/ minimal damage to body. Also, I may go on a cruise this summer, so I need to keep this weight off for good!

How to start losing weight (Trust me, not a repeat

Simply reduce your portion size. This alone will make you lose weight, and your brother would never know. For example, take every meal you get, and throw out 10-20%. However, since you're young and growing, it may not be the healthiest option. Another idea would be to join a sporting club. Whether inside or outside school, it doesn't matter. Take an interest in a few if you want. The extra activity you get from say... soccer training twice a week and a game on the weekend may be enough to start losing weight. Your brother would never know that weight loss was your goal either, just tell him you like the sport. Plus, you'll make a ton of new friends.

You're 15, turning 16. It's good that you're wanting to get into shape. Perhaps you could talk to your parents about some healthier meal choices, at least for breakfast if not dinner as well? Some healthy cereal or toast instead of poptarts? Maybe take a sandwich to school instead of buying a lunch from the cafeteria? As for working out, don't let anyone bother you. So your brother is naturally skinnier than you, and makes fun of you for working out. It's not that big of a deal. Just ignore him. It's your goal, and you shouldn't let anyone stand in between you and your goal. Besides, you won't just be losing fat, you'll be gaining muscle. It's a good thing you've decided to work out. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I wish you the best of luck in your workouts, and on getting into better shape. Let us know if you're having any problems, I'd be glad to try to help you stay on track =)

Ok, so I underestimated my previous calorie intake, it was actually around 2200 calories, and already, I was able to cut out about 935 calories per day, which will surely help me meet my goal. For breakfast, I now have coffee and a nutrigrain bar, and for lunch, I cut out cookies and Gatorade for fruit and flavor-splash water. And I was able to replace an after school snack with Diet Coke (I was already drinking all diet sodas). My dad also got a Bowflex, so I'm gonna start using that soon too once we can finally assemble it XD. So far, so good. And so far, my pants are noticeably looser.
