I recently started yaz(Jan 4th)and about a week ago i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Is it possible for me to be pregnant even if he pulled out? Will my habit of not always taking the at a consistant time effect the protection? I looked up the "early signs" of pregnancy and i've been cramping, fatigued, spotting. But spotting is a symptom of the pill too. I have about one week left in my first pack. Can i take a pregnancy test a week before i am suposed to get my period? And is 6 days too late for plan B? and i am 17 can i bring an 18 year old friend instead of a parent?

Welcome to A2A, Emily. It's just possible to become pregnant even if he pulls out, but provided he isn't too late the chances are low, and with the Yaz the chances should be effectively zero. (Pulling out is not a good method of contraception on its own - it's too easy for the guy to misjudge things and pull out too late.)It's best to take the pill at the same time each day, but there's usually some leeway. You still should be pretty safe if it's within eight hours. Most people who are pregnant don't have any particular signs until their period doesn't come. Most pregnancy tests ask you to wait until the day you should have got your period. It's probably too late for Plan B, but in any case I don't think it's necessary.

Hey Emily I think you're going to be just fine. Birth control still has a higher rate of contraceptive capability when used properly than condoms. Though you have to be honest with yourself on whether or not you took it everyday at the same time as you were supposed to.Combining percentages makes for a very low chance of pregnancy. You already have the low percentage from the Yaz, combined with an even lower percentage from him pulling out (I'm not saying it's an effective contraceptive method, I'm saying it reduces the amount of sperm that would normally get inside. Less sperm, fewer numbers to reach an egg, simple mathematics is all).It really is most likely too late for Plan B to be effective, but I dont think it will be necessary. For future reference your best shot at getting Plan B without your parents finding out is to get an 18 year old friend to get it for you from a Pharmacist. Otherwise you have to visit a doctor since you're still under 18. If you were to choose to go that route then the Health Department or Planned Parenthood are your best bets, as they are usually sworn to confidentiality on a per patient basis, not on a family unit.Get a pregnancy test on the day your period would normally come. Start taking them once every few days for a week and then another one at the end of two weeks.Good luck Emily and keep us posted if you will
