I heard Varicoceles feel like a "bag of worms"...but where exactly does it feel like that? above or around the testicles?I also have a question about testicular torsion... when you have a torsion is the pain EXCRUTIATING?(duno if i spelled right) and what would the pain be on a scale of 1-10.. Thanks.

Varicoceles

That "bag of worms" would be somewhere in your scrotum, not necessarily on are near the testicle itself. Most likely it would be attached to the "tubing" that carries seminal fluids etc inside your scrotum. I've never had a testicular torsion but I can imagine it would be quite painful.

The variocele feels like thick tubes or worms that run from the testicles into the body. Usually, it's on the left side but it's not always the rule. And yes, testiclar torsion is very painful. A variocele ussually produces a dull ache from time to time.

is this serious and is it something that can cure itself? ok ive read abit about this and from what i gather what i am experiencing is not a serious variocele is it is one. I will have a little check to see if i can find this bag of worms but what i am feeling is dull achey pain in the area of the pubic hair. I dont feel much warming of the tesicles nor do i have inflammed or a swollen testicle. my testicles from what i can tell are perfectly fine.

The testicles do not swell, reather they can atrophy.

well ive had a check and i can feel two pipes in each scrotum compartment, both feel like small length of wire, no swelling or bag of worms feel. so what can this pain be?

By the way... can a Varicoceles heal by iteself? if so how long does it take.

No.

It sounds like your pain could be an inflammed spermatic cord, which is usually caused by the testicles moving around too much. If you run or play vigorous sports, try wearing an athletic supporter (jock strap). They help prevent that kind of pain. Also, if you're wearing boxers, switch to briefs and see if it helps. The pain you describe could also be a groin pull. Be careful, because those can lead to a hernia, which often require surgery to repair. If you're really active, take it easy for a few days and avoid any heavy lifting for the groin pull to heal.
