does anyone know approximately how much orthotricyline costs through a gynocologist vs. planned parenthood? and how long until the pill is effective? (not only to prevent pregnancy, but also to start regulating periods)

Pill prices

if you have health insurance you should have some sort of gyno coverage... the actual pill costs about $36 a month if you are just paying for it full price. As for planned parenthood, it is usually based on a sliding scale income, and usually what you pay is a donation. But it depends on the clinic. You shoudl call your local one and find out. if you are under 18 you can probably get it all done for free.it takes about a month of the pill for it to be effective against pregnancy and a few months to regulate your period.

Anywhere from 30 to 50 dollars a month depending on your provider.

30-50 a month depending on your provider? When I was on it it was on $10 a month with health insurance.

I think that's without insurance. $10 is the normal co-pay although my wife just had her prescription changed to ortho because they quit covering her previous brand. We have to pay $20 now because it's also not fully covered. She's pissed becasue she has to change. I have to call the HMO and find out what pills the cover at the $10 co-pay. Damn insurance.

Well, yeah, I forgot to mention it could also be free at certain clinics.

Aww I think you need a little new baby in your life

Been there, done that. I'll pass.
