Hi! I just found out that I am gonna be a mother last sunday..FEB 7. Great news of course everyone is excited, but Iam a little worried because i was drinking,(not too heavily) but i still was. New years eve... and probably 4 other times since new years.. approx 7 drinks each night. thats about 28 drinks since new years... iam about 10 weeks into the pregnancy and iam scared that i might have done something to harm the baby?? If you have any idea on what could happen please let me know... its scaring me sickthanks

lol nothing like encouragement lol Have a chat with your doctor and tell him the score, he will advise you on what can/could happen… if anything
-

I have not drank since the super bowl sunday.. its not a regular thing (everyday or weekend) but i have certainly stopped and will continue but iam wondering of the effects in the first few weeks... my last period was dec 4 so since then that i have had about 28 to 30 drinks...

I do remember reading some medical mumbo-jumbo saying that you can drink "moderately" during pregnancy... I know a lot of women have done so in the past... but with all the health risks out there in the real world, unless you live out in the country and have no access to any form of chemicals, I would have thought you'd be fine.

Nevermind, the CNN report. That's quite extreme. One needs to avoid alcohol, smoking, drugs (both recreational and prescription) when pregnant. Consult your doctor about what you can and cannot take. Get on a prenatal program with vitamin supplements.

The media puts fear in the people.Anyways, just try to see your doctor and tell him what's up. Tell yourself everything will be alright. And CONGRATS.

A few drinks a week isn't going to harm your baby, but it's still best to avoid alcohol on a regular basis when you're pregnant.

thank you all for the quick replies... i have an appointment tomorrow to see my doctor.. so hopefully everything is alright.thanks again
