Guitar Players?

sup, i've been playing guitar for 5+ years...it's pretty difficult to get good at, but that's all relative. it's a great hobby and if you're good enough, career, but those odds are one in a million. But yeah, go for it, have fun, hopefully i'll see you on Mtv.
-
Well I do not plan on being on MTV (Considering it is very HIP-HOP focussed). I wanna play good ol Metallica songs, but that is a very long way away.

sighned  :scream_cat:

Ive been playing for a looong time, started with acoustic at 8 years old, wasn't really serious, but when I turned 13 something happened, I started really getting into rock, so I got an electric... So here I am in a band with 3 of my friends... I play a PRS Tremonti SE, and sing lead.
Good luck, the easiest way to get started without lessons is to get some good books, and asking other guitar weilding friends for help... and later on if you want to play rock, pick up this book: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_id/76890 its helped me alot. -
Been a player for two years. Although the only instrument I can say I'm rather good at is the drums. I've always wanted to learn the piano though. What type of guitar are you planning to get Walken?
-
I am not sure. I am thinking about a strat, but getting a strat that is part of a starter set. If I may, this is along the lines of what I am thinking:

-
part of a starter kit? as in amp, strap, pics, etc.? do u mean the squire strat? anywho, if you're trying to play metallica...they're a pretty unique band, they sound a lot harder then they are, if you look at tabs from a lot of their songs, they play mainly in E, which makes it easier to learn, so yeah, give them a try, they're fun to play good luck, have fun.
-
Looks good. I haven't heard anything bad about Squiers. I'd like you to advice you to steer away from Fenders though. Personally, I find them ridicously overpriced. Especially in some specific models.
-
yeah they're overpriced, mainly, i think, because hendrix played with one. and he's the God of guitar playing...
-
okay...yeah i have excepted metallica is gonna be something i will do far in the future.
-

My father plays. He play a lot of instruments but that's what he makes a living playing. In fact that's how he supported us when I was a kid.I know he got laid a lot. (I had to hear my mom complain that he cheated on her. lol) And when I was in high school he told me, "any port in a storm". He freakin' cracks me up. lol
