for the past 4 weeks i have been eating nothin but yoghurt fruit and steamed vegtables and only drinking v8 fruit juice and water and i have lost 6 1/2 kilos with some swimming every 2 / 3 days
V8 isn't that great for you, it's high in sugar and sodium.
Don't cut out all protein, you may end up losing muscle rather than fat. Your muscles are what burn the majority of your calories, and protein is essential to your body. Of course, there are vegetable supplements that offer complete or near complete proteins. Try to include some calcium as well, since I don't think you want to get osteoperosis (disease that causes weak fragile bones) when you're older. V8 is good as far as the vitamins it offers, but it has more sugar than most pop does.
