Lately I've been incredibly exhausted. I slept for like 12 hours a night the last couple nights and still have to fight to stay awake all day. What is the deal?

Extremely exhausted

I almost feel drunk! What really sucks is that I have two jobs. I am a graphic designer, which I work at as a normal full time job (8am - 4:45pm) and then I'm a waitress at night from 5pm - 10:30 pm. I normally don't have a problem pulling it off, but I'm wondering if it's wearing on me. I get plenty of sleep at night though. I hate this feeling. I can barely keep my eyes open and I feel miserable. Drunk feeling, like I said.

Nah, I'm used to it. Something else is going on. Maybe I'm getting sick....

I have to agree with Helms and say you're probably working too much. It's true that the body has amazing resilience and can adapt to certain conditions, but there are limits. I've suffered from chronic fatigue from my Crohns Disease and taking vitamins and keeping up with your diet/nutrition really helps. I recommend that you go see a doctor too.

not the work is your problem. you sleep too much. a normal person sleeps about 7-9 hours ( not counting army guys =) ).also be sure to exercise regularly

Where did she say that she was sleeping too much? If you look at her work schedule, there's hardly any time in there to sleep.

Still feeling freakishly tired. I sleep an average of 6.5-7.5 hours a night... Not too much considering how much I work I wouldn't think. If this keeps up for more than a couple weeks, I think I'm going to have to get checked out.

It may be work, but you could also be anemic. That's when your iron is low. Since you work so often your probably neglecting your meals. You could try eating more GREEN veggies and meat.

My diet is horrible. It's like, eat something as quickly as possible between jobs and stuff so you don't starve to death... I never thought of my diet. Good call. I'll definatly try that. Thanks.

if you feel drunk, your most likely dehydrated. also, try checking in with a doctor to get your blood sugars or whatever checked. i was diagnosed with EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness) which is acctually caused my insomnia (go figure) and is considered a non-perminant form of narcolepsey...thats at least what i was told by my doctor who turned out to be a quack on most everything. just get it checked out, it could be serious, and not just annoying.
