-
go get professional facials done.. try cleansing toningexfoliating and moisturizing
-
medicated apricot scrub works really good. Minocycline does the trick too, but you'll need a prescription for that.
-
Yeah, Minocycline is excellent. I also use Proactiv and that works well. If you don't already, start doing cardiovascular excercises, the sweating really cleans out your face.
-
Proactiv is an excellent product. A little on the expensive side, but excellent none the less.

I had pretty bad acne and blackheads when I was a teen. I went to a dermatologist who put me on trycycline (I think that was what it was called...this was 16 years ago) and gave me some prescription facial solutions. It sort of worked. My mom used to sell cosmetics and gave me some facial and that helped recude the blackheads and shrink the pores on my nose. I have no idea what it was called, but you applied it with a brush and when it dried you washed it off and you could see all the dirt and oil it removed from your face.I did have a bit of scarring from the acne, and the dermatologist treated that a bit, but I got tired of waiting three hours after my scheduled appointment and quit seeing him. He always overbooked his appointments. I still have a little scarring between my cheeks and temples, but it's not too bad.I think overall, it's a hormonal thing. I've always had oily skin and that made things worse.

for me proactiv did not work a bit
i even had them train me on how to use it but it barely worked -
professional facials

Trycycline is a type of birth control pill. Do you mean tetracycline, which is an antibiotic? It's sometimes used for acne.More info about acne at MedicineNet.com

Or minocycline which is often used for acne.

Erythromycin, a topical pad, along side with retin-a will cure ur acne. stings like a sum'bitch, but it works really well..borderline immediately.
-
I've used retin-a before and didn't really like it.
-
that's cuz it doesn't cure the acne...it just opens ur pores...that what the pads do..:D so the retin-a opens em up, allowing them to drain, while the pads cleanse ur face

I used some other stuff in combination... but I don't remember what it's called... anyway, that wasn't great either. I had to go to oral medication.

Products from the shelf might help. I use Stridex and it seems to keap most of my acne under control.
