Burning pain as you ar describing is a classic sign that the nerve root is being irritated and inflammed. You really should see a specialist. You should probably be taking anti inflammatory drugs. On top of all this you need to find out where the source of the problem is. Certain nerve roots go to given area. For example, I had disc rupture on the right side between C6-C7 of the spine. I had pain (including burning pain) on the right side of chest and back, weak tricep, numbness and weakness in thumb, index and middle finger. What are your exact symptoms?

Back/shoulder pain

Mys symtoms are, shoulder pain near the shoulder blade. Burning, then it feels like it itches. The pain shoots to the top of my shoulder, sometimes down my arm. My fingers tingle. Some numbness but not all the time. In fact the numbness hasn't happened today at all. Some times it feels like someone is stabbing me. And my back/shoulder tingles a lot.

Is it certain fingers and do you have weakness in certai muscles?
-
My whole arm feels weak sometimes. It seems better today though.

You probably have some sort of damage to a cervical disk. I would highly recommend getting an MRI to find out what the damage is, how much and what to do to prevent reinjury. Like I said, I threatened my insurance in order to get an MRI. One doctor wanted to cut me open, 2 others recommended waiting it out. I wore a soft neck collar for a few months and took lots of anti-inflammatory drugs. I did get better, but I am now limited in what and how I lift things. I would insist on a more thorough examination if I were you. MRI's are expensive and the doctors will avoid them unless absolutely necessary. You have to push them hard.

Hi. I don't know if you still read these ever, but I just did a random search about my right arm getting a tingling sensation. I came across this message board and am particularly interested in both situations. In februray I suffered what is called a "Clay Shovelers Fracture". Basically. I fractured my neck, specifically the C-7 spinous process. It is nothing serious, but my back and neck are always sore and I almost always have an extreme burning feelig near my right shoulder blade. Recently I have started to experience this wierd tngly feeling in my right arm. Any insights?

No real insights except that there is some pressure on the neural foramen on the right side of your spine. Constant irritation can cause permamnent damage. I'm no expert and don't know about your fracture, but you would be well advised to see your neurologist.

It feels like this is the only website that is actually talking about the symptoms I am experiencing. Couldn't even find anything on webMD. For the past couple days I have been feeling extreem pain near my shoulderblade.. I can't really tell if it's a muscle or a bone or what, but it hurts REALLY bad, so bad I want to cry. The pain goes through my shoulder area, armpit area, and arm area. It makes my hand and arm numb and tingly, even weak. I used IcyHot and that makes it go away for a little bit but then it just comes back.. My mom's boyfriend told me if I move around and do stuff it will help it but it doesn't seem to be working for me.. Should I call the doctor, or do you think it will heal on it's own?

call your doctor

See a doctor.. You have a pinched nerve. Physical therapy might help but you need to find out where the problem is and why it occurred. Since the numbness is in your arm you have either a slipped or ruptured disk in the C5,C6, C7 area. You are describing my same symptoms and I did get better but it took soft neck collar and lots of meds to get relief. I'm still not 100% and never will be. See your doctor.

Hello! I'm new to this site. About a year ago I had a car wreck. The seatbelt caused alot of pain in my shoulder and chest(sternum?). The emergency room said I had possibly fractured the sternum? but might not show up on x-rays until later. About 2 or three months ago my shoulder has started hurting again. I have a very sore spot on my shoulder blade but it hurts to move or sleep on that side. I do have tingling and weakness in my arm but I also have carpal tunnel in both hands and I'm not sure if the tingling is from that or my shoulder. I've thought about going to the doctor but haven't yet. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Tingling and pain are signs of some sort of nerve irritation. You would be best to have it evaluated

I have had the same stabbing right shoulder pain on and off I've noticed for the past 2-3 years. Kind of comes on all of a sudden without any warning. My doctor and advice nurse can't seem to figure out what is causing it but I do know that with each progressive flareup the symptoms seem to be getting more intense. It's got me a little worried since I am on a blood thinner for a Mini stroke I suffered 3 years back. E-mail Address Removed. About 10 years ago, my mothers best friend had the same thing - it sounds like. But she also had a lot of migraines as well. This is a women who had cancer and cured herself naturally. I don't trust doctors to much. You might want to check oput a product called Angel Oils.
If your not spine isn't fractured - this will get rid of the pain instantly.I hope this helps

i have the same problem. i was surfing the net & found some information on radiculopathy. you might want to type that in. the only relief i have had today (& sunday will be 2wks. of this pain) is painkillers. i have been alternating hot & cold packs. my husband has applied the deep heat occassionally which helps for 30 mins. max. i have also tried moving around more & trust me so far that has only aggravated it. i am hoping to start some kind of physical therapy next wk. good luck to you. please keep me posted.
