i dont hate my parents. sometimes i get mad at them but thats it. lately though it seems like their constantly on my case about school. im bout to graduate and they seem to think that its the end of the world if i dont do good in school. they already shot down me going to college and being succesful in life and want me to consider joining the army or being an electrician(not that theres anything wrong with either) its just not what i had in mind for life. are they right,, that if i fuck up in high school then im pretty much fucked for life? i dont know if their tryin to scare me into gettin better grades or telling the truth. id love to hear from a succesful person in life who bombed high school. thanks for any advice.

I wanted to be a marine biologist/botanist since before i can remember, and I had to work very hard to get it. you cant do nothing in life and expect to be rich. my mother never graduated, and had it not been for my father who did graduate highschool and college (masters) she would have a horrible minimum waged job. Im 19 now, and finishing my second year of college and extremely happy that i am doing what i am. And i would say that your parents are just wanting you to live comfortably some day and trying hard to get you on the right path. I would deffinatly say that they are right and trying to help you

Us parents can be real pains in the arses and yes we do moan at you and get on at you to do well but its only because we want the best for you. I think with my kids I see the missed opportunities I had and just want to ensure that my girls have every possible chance of a good education. Whatever happens in school and whatever grades you get then your parent swill still love you and support you they just want to help you do your best. It is easier in some cases to get further inlife with better grades but I believe life experience can be muchmore valuable than just good grades. It may not be the same here but a lot of jobs specify that applicants must have for example 5 GCSEs grade a-c and A levels etc so in that way good grades are pretty important depending on what kind of job you want. I will stop waffling onnow but whatever you do be happy. Your parents love you and want you to do well. We just like to keep you on your toesby moaning.xx
