i am very concerned. about 3 weeks ago I split up with my girlfriend. last monday I took a girl home from a club, she performed oral sex on me and then we had sex with a condom. I saw her yesterday and noticed what appears to be a cold sore on her lower lip. However, on Tuesday (the day after the random girl) I made up with my girlfriend and have been having unprotected sex with her every day since then(shes on the pill), performing oral sex on her, and she has performed oral sex on me.If the girl with the cold sore gave me herpes, am I correct that it would be the HSV1 type virus, and it has most likely given me genital HSV1 herpes? is there any chance that I have contracted the far worse HSV2 genital herpes? or is that not possible as we used a condom? I have booked an appointment with the clinic next Wednesday (earliest possible). No idea what to tell me girlfriend. have noticed small white bumps in small clusters on the inside of my foreskin, but have an inkling that these are common and have been occurring anyway. no signs of any cold sores or anything on my lips or mouth area, but am getting very paranoid about the slightest itch!any illuminating information would be greatly appreciated. I have done research myself but am very scared. if it is possible i can have contracted genital HSV2 i will cry my eyes out. am i right in assuming that to contract hsv2 i would have to have unprotected sex with someone with genital hsv2. or is it just that if she had hsv2 type herpes cold sores i am up the creek.yours,scared2005

Herpes HSV1 - am I possibly infected?

If she didn't have any evidence of open sores when she sucked you off, I would think you will be fine. Also, if you used the condom properly, that should protect you from HSV2. The small white bumps inside you foreskin re probably Pearly Penile Papules and are nothing to be worried about. Next time though, be more careful about where you put it.

I don't understand why it would matter if it was the HSV1 or HSV2? Both will cause herpes wherever the origin of contact. And you can get herpes even if you use a condom, if there is any skin to skin contact.
