ok so im kind of confused with the terms. I thought jock itch was when you get a fungal infection in your groin area like between your scrotum and your leg. I just recently saw pictures of this weird fungal infection that was between the foreskin and the head. It looked really gross. Just wondering if those 2 are the same? I've only had jock itch but never the one with the infection under the foreskin yuck. another thing, is jock itch considered a yeast infection? i have seen the terms used together several times so thats why Im wondering.

Different kinds of jock itch, yeast infection?

A yeast is a type of fungus, so every yeast infection is a fungal infection (though not every fungal infection is a yeast infection). From the point of view of treatment there is no distinction - all types of fungi, including yeasts, can be treated with the same medications.
You can get a fungal infection anywhere. They are particularly likely on parts of the skin that are kept warm and moist, which of course includes under the foreskin. Between the toes it's called athlete's foot, around the groin it's called jock itch. It can be called tinea anywhere. A particular type of infection that causes round blotches is called ringworm - but the treatment is the same in all cases, and you can get it at a pharmacy over the counter.
