I am an 18 year old female and I think I am in love with my best friend. She has been my best friend for 5 years and my feelings for her have steadily grown stronger. When I am not with her I feel incomplete, like I have lost a part of myself. But I am scared to tell her how I feel because she is in love with this other guy and I am also very confused. I am still sexually attracted to men and she is the only female that I am attracted to. What am I feeling? What should I do?
I think I'm in love
i think its just a big feeling of friendship.
MY SIG ROCKS YOUR SIG'S SOCKS OFF!
I love my best friend too, but not sexually. It's like how I love my mom. I think it's just a REALLY strong, true friendship.

Just enjoy your friendship, its really cool that you have a friend who is so special to you.
Do you think it's possible that your feelings for your friend could be turning into something a little obsessive? I don't mean that in the psychotic sense. I mean that sometimes friedships can become a little addictive...co-dependent or whatever. Doesn't sound like anything sexual.
Actually, your self-awareness around this is a real strength for you. Continue to look at it and process it (although I would caution against saying anything to her about it right now). Maybe even find a counselor you could see to help you sort it out. If my theory is right, you could even begin looking at what needs you might have that you are expecting her to meet.
Okay...I'll just tell you...I've experienced what you're describing with a close friend. It has really been humiliating for me. But I realized what it is and what it ain't and have been able to become much healthier around it...and a better friend as a result.
