I went to a catholic grade school and high school, and I was told that you shouldn't use condoms or whatnot, and practice natural methods of birth control. Something about only having sex on certain days of the month. Do you guys know anything about this?

Natural Birth Control?

That is probably the most unreliable method of birth control and should only be used by people who are married and would not have a serious issue with getting pregnant. It's basically having sex when the woman is outside the window of ovulation. Read up at this website for more info: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/bc/

Yes, it's sometimes called the "rhythm method". The trouble is, it assumes the woman is regular, which isn't always true. It can be made a bit more reliable by charting body temperatures (the "temperature method") or mucus properties (the "Billings method"); but even at its best it is considerably less reliable than condoms or oral contraceptives.

if you dont want you partner to get pregnant i suggest tossing this method and getting on birth control or using a condom, or both.
