I got a serious question that has been really bothering me.. I'm 24 and i got circumcised about 3 years ago and the scars still haven't gone away.. Right around my head where the skin was cut theres scars all the way around that like stick out higher than my head.. Theres also little bumps, kinda like little bubble scar things its really hard to explain though. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what can i do about this? Will some sort of scar cream help at all? Is there a chance that they will go away in future? It really brings my confidents down when i meet a new girl.

Personal question about circumcision scars...

Hi Jerod, it's usual to have a permanent circumcision scar that shows as a brown ring - but raised scars and bumps don't sound good. It sounds like the operation was botched. I think you should get a urologist's opinion - not from the person who did the operation.

I don't really have a brown ring, like you said there raised scars, thats a good word for what im trying to describe. Can you describe what "botched" means? I never really looked into circumcision before i had it done, i didn't really understand that it was so complicated i thought it was a common thing and it was no big deal..I really would like to avoid seeing a doctor if i don't have to, i guess i will take in as much as i can learn from here and decide what i need to do.

Its not so much that im worried about the scar being raised a little bit, but here ill try to explain the situation the best i can. Right around the head where it was cut theres like this little ring all around that looks all puffed out, but its not exactly that bad i could live with just that. On top of this ring there is like little bubble sort of things from what i think is from the stitches.

By "botched" I mean not done properly or well, and possibly something you could sue over. Circumcision seems like a simple operation, but it involves cutting and reconnecting tissue, and that can reconnect improperly. Sometimes "tunnels" can result.
"Little bubble sort of things" doesn't sound very good. I think there isn't really any alternative to having it seen by a professional (an impartial one).

Interesting.. Thanks for the information.Still would like to here a few more opinions on this and if anyone else has had this problem.I picked up some scar cream too, any chance that this could help do you think?

i wouldnt want a botched circumsision :|

Hey dude..sounds like there was some significant damage done durring the healing process with the stitches. Maybe you got too many erections while it was healing causing the stitches to rip or tear resulting in what you have now. Skin bridges are not uncommon in adult circumcisions because of erections that damage the stitch line durring healing. If I were you, I would go back to doctor that did it, explain to him the situation and maybe he can re-circumcise you and get rid of as much of this bad scaring as he can. But the way you describe it..that is definaltely not supposed to be that way, and you should get it looked into to see if if can be fixed.. Might even require a plastic surgeon at this point. (I was also circumcised as an adult, and had a revision later)

andrew says you should go back to the guy that did it.I'd say YOU SHOULD NOT! judging by his work i wouldnt go back to him.dont delay my man, make an appointement with a credible urologist.if there is a problem maybe they can fix it or refer you to someone that can.i have been having problems with my eqipment for over a year now, small problems, but a bitch all the same.i have seen many different doctors about it from my gp, urologist to my derematologist.you need to get to the bottom of it.
