I do alot of this business.Fucking gangbangers spray painting shit all over town, fucking up peoples fences houses and businesses. I wish I could see it in person, I could tell ya much easier how to fix it.Take a pic ?or atleast consider a few things. What shape is the wood in ? if its aged then paint it.Wood has tobe kept up in outdoor settings, water sealed and what not or it ages, then rots and falls to shit.If its in any state of decay then paint it with some good shit. I reccomend a product called Kilz. Its a primer but its better then any i ever used. It seals wood so that even old stain or weather marks dont bleed thru and it does it in one coat. They make a paint as well but its not as good as using hte original Kilz over it then painting what ya like on top pf it.Metal can be painted, but its got to be sanded good first, I alwasy primer metal before painting as well.ffIf the wood is in good shape then they make several wire wheels that fit a drill you can strip the paint off with. fget a softer one, it does less damage to teh wood. a brass one should do. do not use a cup wheel as it will fuck up the fgrain of the wood. They also make a wheel that looks like a 70's vagina with hairspray and glitter. It may well be better on the wood.IF you can strip the wood make sure you then use a water sealer on it or youll have a fence that falls apart, and loosk like hell in a matter of a year or so.Just remeber to prime if your going to paint it, otherwise the wood blleds thru and your whole project looks like shit no matter how much money or work you put into it.Chemical stripers are the easest way to go, but then your dealing with an acid solution, and clean up and smell and its a real pain in the ass, that isnt always worth the effort. I try to use it more for refinishing furniture and what not where I can keep it in the garage or atleast a controled environment. It may wel be the best solution to your fence problem though. Of course depending onthe finished look, some 80 grit sand paper on a power sander may do ya just as much good, or if you have the time, that same sand paper on a block of wood and your arm work too.Id also consider, are you buying this place or renting it ?renting Id have the landlord take care of it, or work out a deal that youll do it for a reduction in a months rent, if htat falls thru Id do it for fbeing paid back for materials to fix it.If your buying it Id do it right and primer and paint it, or remove that shit and waterproof the wood so it doesnt rot and stays looking good.
