Thongs

I have a 10 year old girl and there is no way she would be wearing thongs at her age or younger, personally i think its wrong, but thats just my opinion.
-
Err..Thats very strange. You need to tell your parents.
-
9 years old??? omg that too young imo. i was 13 and i felt so uncomfortable wearing them. im 18 now, and i love them. but 9 is WAY too young.
-
i wore them when i was about 12...but i dont really like them now. and it is kinda skanky of a little kiddy 2 be wearing them...
-
I think alot of women wear thong because it's what some people consider sexy. Nine year old girls should not be worried about what is considered sexy. How does she buy thongs? I'd think your parents would have to pay for them, so shouldn't they know? I don't wear thongs. To me it's just about what someone else calls sexy. Then there's there's the whole pantyline dilema. Again, something a nine year should not be concerned about.
-
I think its disgusting. Its disgusting that clothing companies market sexy clothing to pre-teens, and its disgusting that some parents will buy them for their kids.
-
I totally agree with that. Sadly they only make them in child sizes because there's a market for them. If parents didnt buy them no company would put themselves out of business producing them. I just dont get mothers who dress their little girls up like bait for peadophiles. As for the issue of thongs themselves, I wore one once and never again. I just dont believe anyone finds them comfortable till they've forced themselves to get used to them in an effort to conform to what others view as sexy. The way they chaff the lips and arsecrack off you - aaarrrrgggghhhh!I wear soft lacy knickers with a decent bit of fabric in them with matching bras and that's sexy enough for me, thanks very much. If my bloke asked me to wear a thong I'd tell him to wear it first and tell me what he thought of it!

In reply to: I totally agree with that. Sadly they only make them in child sizes because there's a market for them. If parents didnt buy them no company would put themselves out of business producing them. I just dont get mothers who dress their little girls up like bait for peadophiles. Yeah agreed. I blame both, but ultimately it is the consumer who controls the market. I would NEVER let a hypothetical daughter of mine wear stuff like that until she was in her teens., when she can get a job and buy them for herself.
-
most of my underwears are the boy or booty shorts whatever they call it. those are more comfortable for me.
-
Yeah! My girlfriend was in a clothing store in the mall and some girl was looking for clothes with her dad. She was probably a young teen/preteen. Guess what her dad says to her. "I think this would look good on you" and holds up a thong.
-
agreed.young girls r trying to grow up way 2 fast. i see far 2 many preeteens round about wearing things, that even on a older girl would b considered slutty or skanky. its not apropriate to dress young kids up like dolls, they shouldnt even have 2 worry about their image yet. kids r just in way 2 much of a hurry 2 grow up
-
Yeah I love those too, and to hell with worrying about pantylines. I mean what is that all about? - are we supposed to pretend we dont wear underwear?! The ones I wear are thin enough that you dont usually notice that anyway, especially through jeans.
-
I know, it's crazy. When I think of things like that I'm glad I havent got a girl!
-
"I blame both, but ultimately it is the consumer who controls the market."Unless the consumer allows him or herself to be brainwashed by the media...in which case, they hand control of the market back to the manufacturers who can now tell them what to buy. This is what has happened.
-
Yes, you could say that the market is essentially media driven, but, as you say, this is only possible when the consumer is prepared to be the manipulated link in the chain. And because, without their co-operation, the whole dynamic would collapse I think the responsibilty essentially rests with consumers, i.e. the parents. I've no girls but if I ever do I sure as hell wont be dressing them like little slags because the media tells them it's the 'in thing'.
-
It's wrong that a 9 year old is wearing thongs. I didn't even know what a thong was when I was 9. Infact, I didn't start wearing thongs until I was 17. that was 3 years ago. I love thongs. They are the only underwear that I wear. But again, kids should not be wearing thongs.
-
"I've no girls but if I ever do I sure as hell wont be dressing them like little slags because the media tells them it's the 'in thing'."
Sadly, you would be increasingly in the minority. As more people allow themselves to be brainwashed, the more this behavior appears to be the norm and becomes more accepted by the general populace...including those not brainwashed. What effects one, in this regard, effects us all.
-
Its true that the media has its parrt to play but even that is driven by consumerism. The consumer and the media and the business' all lead each other on, none could exist without the others and non has absolute power over the others.
-
"Its true that the media has its parrt to play but even that is driven by consumerism."Only to the extent that the consumers need to buy. In this country (the US) that doesn't seem to be a problem...it's merely a question of what they choose to buy.
