TO YOUNG FUCK OFF!!!purple, first off, make sure you are comfortable in having sex as well. how old are you? if you are old enough i believe you can probably get the pills without having to tell your parents. but it would be nice for them to know too i dont really know about sentence starters, but i hope i helped anyways

although i agree you may be too young to have sex, i'm still going to answer your question.. afterall, that is what this forum is all about.i got on birth control for a few reasons. i only had my period a few times a year (it had been that way since i got it at 11 years old), had bad cramps, and wanted another form of protection against pregnancy in addition to using condoms. at age 18 i started to see a gynecologist and he and my general practitioner both agreed i should get on the pill.. if you're going to start having sex, at least you're thinking about being safer by using BC. if you actually have problems with your period or cramps, mention it to your doctor and ask if BC would help.. they will most likely advise you get on the pill.. (again, it may be different depending on age.. but the pill can actually help with a lot of medical things such as ovarian cysts, uterine or ovarian cancer, cramps, irregularity, acne, and possibly endometriosis... so it will be worth looking into for more than preventing pregnancy.. but remember, it also has side effects and a lot of women switch types of pills several times before finding one that works well with their body).it will probably be a hell of a lot more comfortable for you to talk to your mom about awful cramps or how you haven't had a period in a few months than it would be to bring up wanting to get on the pill because you're having sex.hope it helped.. good luck and be safe.
