i drink water all throughout the day and never seem to have my thirst quenched. it just started a couple weeks ago, so i'm starting to get worried.. i don't eat salty foods and never add salt.. i rarely have spicy things, and occaisionally eat sugary items.. i also have been craving fruit and salads, but think it may be because they have a higher water content than most staple foods (ie: bread, pastas, meats, etc.).. in addition to that, most meats have been making me feel disgusted or unlike eating for about 6 months now.. (all meats, especially turkey, chicken or pork)i don't know if it's just me realizing all the crap people put into their bodies and forming some sort of subconscious repellant for it or what.. i'm not quite sure if the water and meat thing are related.. but does anyone into nutrition know what may be going on or why i have an unquenchable thirst or feel almost nauseous when eating meat?thanks!

I was just wondering it is a strong symptom of a type 2. If your worried, have it checked out.
At first, your blood sugar level may rise so slowly that you may not know that anything is wrong. One-third of all people who have diabetes do not know that they have the disease.1
If you do have symptoms of type 2 diabetes, they may include:
* Feeling thirsty.
* Having to urinate more than usual.
* Feeling more hungry than usual.
* Losing weight without trying to.
* Feeling very tired.
* Feeling cranky. -
well i have all those symptoms, except the losing weight (unfortunately hard for me during the holidays).. i think i will have it checked out.. thanks for the possible heads up and quick responses!

Back before I was diagnosed (with Type 1), I was drinking and peeing non-stop, all day long. You'd always find me at the fridge grabbing something to drink, and always peeing.If your thirst is that serious, you may want to get that checked out.

...What Roc said!I am just entering middle age and while I watch what I eat and am in reasonably good shape physically, I found out a year ago that I have developed Type 2 diabetes. I had the insatiable thirst thing too. See your doctor and get your blood sugar checked. It is such a simple test- just let them draw a couple of vials of blood. And chances are that even if you find you have become a diabetic, it might even be handled with oral medication rather than injections. And diabetes is not something you want to ignore. So I encourage you to not put this off. Even if you find you do have diabetes, you will find that you can lead a normal life and do all the things that you have always done except perhaps having to be more careful with what you eat (be sure you educate yourself as to life as a diabetic- it is not a scary as many newly diagnosed diabetics think.) Chance are you know MANY diabetics and don't even know that they are.

That was some good advice.Thanks! How are you feeling these days? Better? Is it under control? Just wondering. My best friend uses a pump and I have seen him crash 5 or 6 times over the last 10 years ro so.Diabetes, is some nasty shit if you don't take control of it.
