I've been having a problem, for the entirety of my sex life it seems, where I have trouble maintaining or even achieving erection. At first I figured it was because I was young, the first time I was with a girl (15) I never got hard with her, despite her efforts; then years later (a different woman) I lost my virginity, after much effort, and I figured I was getting over it as I more or less had an okay relationship "bedroom"-wise. (Still would have bouts of no-gos with her.)Recently though after another set of years I get into bed with a woman and I'm limp as a noodle. It's beginning to worry me because I can achieve and maintain an erection for an extended period of time alone while masturbating, but when it counts, I'm out.I don't know. From what I can gather all of my guy friends can just start fooling around with a girl and bam, up it goes. I never got awkward boners in class or anything either so I don't even know if I can get hard without physical stimulation.Anyway, I'm just wondering if it's at all something I can easily fix or am I doomed.

Erectile Dysfunction?

I think the first thing to do is get a check-up with a doctor, to see if there is a simple physiological reason. For example, diabetes can cause poor erections (and that is sometimes the first sign). Are you on any medication? Some antidepressants (not all) can make it harder to get hard.If there isn't a physical reason, it is probably an anxiety issue. It might be helped by therapy for anxiety - perhaps anxiolytic medication, or even hypnotherapy might help.

I agree with Pete, have everything checked out. I wouldn't have waited this long... When you are not with someone and you're feeling kind of horny, or your looking at porn, are you able to get an erection? If that is the case, you might need to focus on what turns you on. perhaps you're a voyeur or an n exhibitionist. If the doc checks out you need to find out who you are what you like. maybe you're just not attracted to that person... What turns you from limp to hard?

I asked a doctor friend of mine about your problem today at lunch. I ran into him at the deli. He suggested you should go to your doctor and have your testosterone levels checked. He said his brother had a similar problem in his 20's and was put on a testosterone replacement therapy using androgel...Look into it and let us know.
