Hi I have been to a dematilogist concerning redness aNd bumpiness on the head of my penis and he just said it was skin irritataion and I just had sensitve skin. However I have had this skin irritataion for around a year now and would like to go get tested for herpes since I used to reveive oral sex from girlfriend. She had never done anything sexually prior to our relaionship so if she had any kind of herpes it had to be HSV 1. If I want to get tested for genital herpes should I get tested for HSV 1 or 2? Thank u in advance!EDIT: also she claims she has Never had cold sores before and doesn't have HSV 1

What shoul I get tested for?

Have you tried an anti-fungal cream first? Redness and bumpiness can be caused by a yeast infection, which, untreated, can hang around for years. It would be cheaper to try that first. If you do get tested for herpes, you should be tested for both strains.

i tried various anti fungal creams but they didnt seem to help. do u think i possibly just built up ressitances to the creams? does this sound typical of herpes??? i didnt think so because i have had these symptoms for almost a year now and herpes supposedly comes and goes. the penis head wouldnt look constatnly red, dry, cracked, and bumpy for a year would it?In addittion, ive noticed that when i pee, i drip alot alot more, that my semen may appear to be more accidic than it used to be because when i ejaculate, the urethra meatus becames extremely bright red. I was thinking ti could possibly be some kinda of like prostate infection but im only 18..... so that didnt make sense.

Resistance is possible, but at this point it really needs a culture to see what is there. A urethral infection or a urinary tract infection would be more likely than a prostate infection, but I think there's just not enough information to make any guess.
