Im 17 years oldSImply put, the hair around the crown of my head is REALLY thin, and you can see my scalp...it looks odd and im worried it may be premature balding!someone help?
Balding at 17?
It can happen. It sounds like male pattern baldness, which only occurs in males because it's triggered by the male hormone dihydrotestosterone. It's genetic - if you have the genes for it, dihydrotestosterone tends to cut blood supply to the hair follicles. There are some treatments available that seek to reverse this, though most guys end up just accepting it.
Is there a family history of baldness?
Pay a visit to the doctor first. They may prescribe a medicated shampoo/spray.Or once in a week you can try a gentle massage on your scalp for 5mins using some warmed (dont heat it too much) plain coconut, olive or castor oil 1 hr prior bathing. Use a cleansing shampoo to wash it off. Use warm water (not hot water) for washing and switch to cold water just before stepping out of the shower.Dont rub towel on your head, try to be gentle, pat your hair dry. (my dad lost his hair cos he used to rub the towel on his head )Take Multivitamins+micronutrients supplement everyday. To fight baldness to need to follow a good diet, hygiene, dont use too many chemicals like styling gels, and also follow the doctor's precription. Never overdo whats prescribed in hopes to grow your hair ASAP, hair take time to grow and results will not be seen for 3-4 months. Best of luck.PS: There are many ads selling stuff for baldness dont fall for it just see a doctor instead.
Il faut plus d'amour dans le monde.
good thing that I stopped using my hairgel.. I tend to overdo it, now I'm just trying to grow out and have long hair =D
Master-debators are awesome.
Long hair is good. Much less trouble and you can floss between your teeth with it.
