I'm like fuuuuuuuck! I've never had one before. Earlier this week I noticed my vagina (just the inner lips) were itching and were red. I have a very milky white, thin and watery discharge that doesn't smell. This is not the normal discharge color or texture. It's usually thicker, more mucus-like and cream colored. Also there seems to be a discharge all the time and it just comes out more frequently than normal. I have been forgetting to change my panty liners quicker. I'm also thinking it could be an allergic reaction as I had a heavy masturbation session and I might have had something on my hands (like lotion). It might be a reaction to my body wash, but I've been using in for a month or more and I never wash inside the inner lips or douche.Could this be a yeast infection? The last thing I need is a sick vagina.

YEAST Infection??
-
Yeast infections normally have a smell, but I'd be hesitant about being too dogmatic about it. Very often it's hard to tell whether inflammation is from a yeast/fungal infection or a bacterial infection or an allergy, and the best way to tell may be to see which treatment clears it up.
-
I remembered that st home test that can tell if it's a yeast infection. I'll try that. I can't go to the doctor...health insurance hasn't kicked in.
-
You don't need a prescription to treat a yeast infection: you can get creams for it at any pharmacy. The same is true of bacterial skin infections. Allergies normally need anti-histamines - I don't know if they are available without prescription in the US.
-
I wanted to go to the doctor to make of what it is. The discharge isn't the same as what it's supposed be for steady infection. I'm worried it could be something serious. I'm not sure how long I've had it, but I think it's been almost a week. It also itches on the inside of the inner lips and the box if cream at the store said to put it on the outside, but it doesn't itching the outside or outer lips. I'm also worried because I have sensitive skin that the cream may make it worse...and the box also said I should consult a doctor if it's my first time with itching/yeast infection. It's all just too much and I wish it would go away. The itching isn't that big of a problem, it's the gross, watery, white constant discharge. I'm scared it's something serious and I can't get to a doctor where I'll have to have another painful pelvic exam. I hate I don't know what to do. I guess the cream will be safe, other women use 'rm all the time. I just got scared after reading the warnings on the back of the box, especially the side effects.
-
You don't want the creme that you apply manually to the labia. That's not going to fix anything. You want a suppository. Usually it's a 3 day treatment using a creme that is inserted into the vagina using something like a tampon applicator. Now they also have some 1 day treatments where you insert a large "pill", but also with an applicator.. However, you said in the past that you can't insert anything in your vagina... I don't know how you are going to deal with that. They also have an oral treatment for yeast infections, but you will probably need a doctors prescription for that.
-
I can do tampons, but they are hard to insert (my vagina repeatedly pushes it back out) and sometimes get sort of stuck after they expand and are ready to be removed. I can rarely get a tampon to go in right. Right now a tampon size anything that can fit inside without pain. I'm guessing the "pill" dissolves. I just don't want to be able to feel it inside. I read on the box that I should seek a doctor first if it's my first time having a yeast infection. Why does it say that and why do all medication sounds so scary or unsafe? I guess when "normal" people are like I'll take anything, I'm like, 'WTF is this? What's it going to do to me? I'm just so scared it will get worse and not go away. The itching is becoming even less of a problem. I just want the discharge to go away and go back to normal. I hate this body, if my normal woman bodily issues weren't enough....
-
There are all sorts of warning due to liability issues. You won't hurt anything treating yourself for a yeast infection. You just want to be sure it's nothing else. I doubt it would be. Yeast infections are pretty common.I'm sure the pill is "larger" and yes it does dissolve. I doubt you would "feel" it inside. You can always go the 3-day creme route.

I jus hope I don have an allergic reaction. I tried to find the Vagisil testing kit at Wal-Mart that's supposed to help tell if it's a yeast infection or not, but they didn't have it.
-
Why are you waiting? Just do it.
-
'Cause I have to find it and I've been to tired after work to do anything but eat dinner and go to bed. I don't have a car so it's twice as hard to get anything. I want to get the testing kit before I buy the yeast infection treatment. I also thought it might be Bacterial Vaginosis. So far the itching has stopped, but I still have the weird discharge.

I'm having the same problem again, except know it always after my boyfriend performs oral sex on me. It's tha same itchy red area and discharge. Usually after he's done and sometimes during it start to itch 'casue he does this things where he rubs his mouth area over my vagina. He has a beard and it really rough on the vaginal skin (esp. the area the anus and vaginal opening. The cleared up the day after, but the day before yesterday he did it back to back and know I'm itching really bad. I also had a genital herpes scare too, so I think I have genital herpes for sure now because of the itching. I plan on trying to get an appointment and go to the doctor on Friday. Ugghhh I HATE my vagina, I hate being sexually active. something is always wrong with me, discharges, itching rashes, ingrown hairs, possible genital herpes. Why can't I be healthy. What's wrong with me? What are some suggestions I can do to prevent these things? I guess I need to remember to ask my doctor these things. FMLAfter my vagina finally healed from last time ( stop using pantyliner so much and washed with the salicylic acne face wash from Burt's Bees) I started back using pantyliners again. Could this be the culprit? I just have to wear them. I normal discharge is heavy and mostly constant and I don't like being wet all the time. I try to just use tissue, but that just breaks up and the discharge soaks through and leaves my underwear wet and dries with a stain.
-
I wouldn't have expected pantyliners to be a problem, unless you have an unusual allergy.
-
I don't know if it's the cause yet, but they're not breathable and the use stuff the bleach the cotton/fiber white for the pads and liners. I'm not sure it has something to do with my boyfriend's saliva or the fact he has oral herpes. Ughhhhhh...I hate being sexually active; it sucks. I can take all these vagina problems, physically and mentally. I was using the restroom and smelled the dry discharge and it stinks. :frowning: It's never smelled like that before and I've never had issues like this. I'm itching right now and at work, and depressed about it all. My boyfriend and I are going to have to use condoms, I can't take it anymore. Either oral sex with condoms or none at all. I so depressed and frustrated right now
-
I've been researching online and found this site that says there's a connection between yeast infections an oral sex. I'm thinking I have a yeast infection, thrush, or some side effect of genital herpes. I don't know what's wrong with me. I think it's too soon to test again for genital herpes. I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment, but I feel like my period is coming and I can't really have a pelvic exam is I'm menstruating. People have also commented a lot about not wearing pantyliners. I feel like I don't have a choice. tissue and toilet paper just doesn't accommodate the excessive discharge I normally have. Ughhhhh...I hate my vagina and I hate going to the doctor and I HATE pap smears and pelvic exams!

@TangledWeb Hi A bit late but just in case anybody else needs help for when you have a yeast infection,.
A good tip is to stayed shaved, fungus loves places that are warm and moist and pubic hair is that place, so no hairs no hiding place, when you have one do try and go commando as much as you can and wear cotton knickers that are loose, doing keeps a good air flow going round your vagina.
There are lots of natural remedies around that are just as good as OTC drugs, and when these don't work natural remedies do, here are some links to look through.
