You can transmit genital warts (which are HPV) just by skin contact without any penetration, so it's certainly possible to have HPV and be at least a technical virgin.

Possible Genital Herpes, Oh God!
-
Well the visible sores aren't pretty and it's something ugly that other people don't want that's contagious.

We've had oral sex again.... How can I convince him about condoms for the both of us? I feel so ridiculous. I don't know how to make it sound like I'm not being a crazy worrier.

Does HPV only show up on the genitals?Does this mean if someone for example a cashier has HPV and she touches her vagina and then touches products with I buy with her hands and then later on I touch the product and then touch my skin that the HPV is now transfered onto my skin?
-
Hmmm...I think that wouldn't work 'cause it would be exposed too long outside the body. Read the paragraphs in the link below http://www.hsvguide.com/Herpes_Transmission.htm

We need to be careful here not to get confused.
HSV = Herpes Simplex Virus, responsible for cold sores (mainly strain 1) and genital herpes (mainly strain 2).
HPV = Human Papilloma Virus, of which more than 120 strains are known. Different strains are responsible for ordinary warts, genital warts, certain cancers, and quite a few other things: see here.

Oops, my bad. i didn't even noticed which he/she wrote about. I just glanced over and assumed we were all still talking about HSV.

How do you get tested for HPV? Would you get a penis swab or something like that?
Just imagine you go to a urologist who touches your junk and before he examined someone else with HPV and didn't really desinfect his hands and then you automatically also have it. That's crazy. :open_mouth:

I'm not sure. My post was about herpes (HSV). HPV is something different as someone already stated.Doctors use gloves and besides I don't think it works like that for either of the viruses. You remind me of another person that posts (or used to post) on this site. They always had such strange responses/concerns sometimes.

If you get infected, a breakout is most likely within 7 days. (edited by readytogo-site not allowed) I suggest that you should go to see a doctor and test for herpes.

Counselor of a*(edited by readytogo-site not allowed)* said the chance is small for the HSV-1 to be passed to the genital area. However, the risk is still there. You did not get herpes by oral sex from him in the past does not mean you never get it by this way. You can be infected by the virus when your immune system is weak. Be sure to see your doctor if there is any symptoms at your genital area.

When I got Herpes, it was from someone who pretended to be my friend for three years. He knew he had it and he really didn't give a crap about if I got it or not. He flat out lied to me and told me he had had a clean std test. When I turned up with it a week later, he told me to go to the doctor and ask them for Valtrex and herpes treatment. "You will be fine." He told me.
Needless to say, I didn't have a lot of faith in humanity or men left after that happened to me. When I found this *(edited by readytogo-site not allowed)I was too scared to date or to seek out a relationship. I had told several people about my new found curse and had mixed reactions. This site gave me the confidence and understanding I needed to be happy.

I found a very interesting article on Herpes If you are looking for Herpes Treatments or std in general, I can recommend pharmacies like [Pharmacy2u. They both have an Online Doctor for questions and for writing a prescription. Wish you the best!

You are not alone even though you have herpes. Find others with herpes. (edited by readytogo-site not allowed) you may be upset and think your sexual life is over. However, once you settle down and learn the facts, you'll realize that having herpes is not the end of the world, and it's not the end of your social life.
