Hey all I've been kinda trying to find some info on the net and couldn't find it so I figured this was probably the best place to go Ok i don't have diabetes yet but it appears to be very prominent in my family. My 66 yr old grandmother has it, my 43 yr old uncle has it, my 46 yr old father is borderline and probably will one day. I know all the preventative measures and how to live and eat and excercise and all that so I can get as many diabete-free years as I can. But I was wondering if there were any sexual aspects of diabetes. Will I have any erectile dysfunctions? Loss of libido earlier then most men? lower sperm count/infertility? enlarged prostate? higher chances of cancer? smaller of more flaccid erections? curvature formation? pre-mature ejaculation? any other risks?I'm just curious, the more I know the better I can live, thanks for any info

Difficulty getting an erection can occur - it can be the first sign of diabetes. It gets better when the diabetes is treated.

Hey bud, I'm 45, diagnosed Type 2 about 2 years ago. None of the things you mentioned are problems with diabetes except some problems with erections. While I didn't have any noticeable problems in that department, I caught my diabetes early, jumped on treating it and I'm doing great. No medication, no insulin and simply controlling it very well with diet and exercise. Please take care of yourself, eat right and watch for any signs of it, have regular checkups and all of that. But don't worry about any of those things you mentioned happening, the only one that diabetics have problems with are erections due to decreased blood flow and nerve damage. Hope that helps!

Hey bud, don't worry about too many questions here! Erection problems may be of several types, not getting them much at all, having problems keeping one and most likely them not being as firm as they had been. Glad none of that happened to me with diabetes!
