Alright I'm not even supposed to be on right now but whatever. You guys all know I have 4 sisters and 1 brother and they're all older than me. My sisters are 22, 21, 19, and 17. My brother is 18. I am 16. (Parents must have gotten really busy ew). Anyway it's 2:17 am and just a few minutes ago my 19 year old sister comes up to me and shes balling out. I mean her face is flushed with tears. She just told me that she's pregnant. Right now she's in the bathroom taking that pregnancy test again to make sure it's right, cause I certainly don't believe it. I am exremely shocked right now. I feel really upset at her right now but I'm gonna try and stay strong for her. Anyway, I already told her she's not getting an abortion. No way. Not in this lifetime. She doesn't want to tell my parents but it's not like they're not gonna find out. I have to go help her now. So if any of you have an idea on how to keep me sane through this please let me know I'd appreciate it.

You don't think that's her decision? Then you ought to go out and get a job and help to support the child. You also need to make yourself available for babysitting duty (you'll need to get the diaper changing thing down). You'd better let someone else worry about neutering the dog; you're going to be pretty busy.
Does she have a job? Is she in school? Do you think she should get an official pregnancy test at a doctor's office? You think maybe it would be fair if she had a chance to talk to family planning people who might have a clue? Contrary to what you may believe, they don't try to talk everyone into having an abortion. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. -- MLK

I would gladly help her take care of a baby. But when we were really little our parents used to give us that no sex before marriage talk and she did it, like an idiot, and now look at her. Anyway, she made it clear she can't get an aboriotn and kill another life.
She has a job and she's in school. She's going today when my parents leave for work today, my brother is going to take her in his car and bring the rest of us along around 6 I think. Whatever helps her I don't care. She's goin crazy, I'm going crazy, and so are my other sibs. We're getting paranoid too by not letting anything go by her stomach. We're screaming each others heads off which is why I'm here trying to calm down before I hurt someone. Our situtation would make anyone laugh with the way that we're dealing with it.The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

If she's dead set against abortion, is adoption a possibility? Or is she really ready to be a mother? She's working and in school (and dating?)...a new baby will have some effect on that.

I really think adoption is a possibility. But I'm not so sure she's ready to be a mother. She has so much onher mind right now and this is like the breaking point for her. Exactly, I don't know what she wants to do.

I donn't really know what to say here. It's good that you and ur siblings are supporting her but in my honest opinion, I think ur parents need to know about this. They can help her in ways others can't. If they are angry, they probably will be, but they won't stop loving ur sister and helping her.

That true, I'm just so confused right now. A baby? That's so crazy. I'll be an auntie. But I don't know if she'll keep it.

Well, my sister got pregnant at 17, and abortion was not an option for her- I am proud of her for that decision. She decided on (open) adoption, and now, Kelli is my 2-year-old niece, whom my whole family and I love (and know) dearly.
So, I can say that I am all for adoption, especially if your sister is not ready for a child. But the hardest struggle for a mother is giving up her baby; my sister almost backed out, but then she remembered why she chose adoption, and went through with it. It's your thing, do what you wanna do. What about the kid`s dad ? He should decide too

That poor excuse of a man? He better not show his ugly pale face around this house. Or he'll be pushing up daises before he's realized what's happened.

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.

I know but I never liked him. He's some boy from school, and shes my sister. The weight ratio has a big difference. But don't think she's not getting any blame. She's been getting crap from since the time I found out.

I think what she means is that now your sister needs your forgiveness and support. Browbeating her doesn't serve any useful purpose, and just makes her feel worse. She's already going throug a lot. Isn't forgiveness a Christian virtue?

Ya can't always just forgive someone straight away, some things need time.

Why not? The longer it takes, the worse it is. I don't think the sister got pregnant to personally spite Smooches.
