I'm bored and am bring up a highly controversial issue.GODDoes He/She/It exist.Yours thoughtsMine are that something must do. What is outside the universe. What was before the big bang. Who knows, and we shall never know.I do believe that all religion is bollocks. Religion was created by man, not a higher being, therefore has faults. Religion however is a GOOD thing. It inspires hope and good will. Its just when you get extremists and completely deluded fuckwits its when it annoys me.Should get some interesting responsesMr. Nuts

I just don't belive theres some all-powerful being in some perfect beautiful land above earth.plus theres the age old question,if "God"created us,who created him/her?
I think the whole thing is a load of shit! -
Probaly does... oh well no one will ever be able to prove it.
-
I believe in God.
-
I do
-
if there is a god... its got a fuck of a lot to answer for
-
Such as...?
-
all the pain, war, and suffering in the world
-
Yes... buts all done by the hands of men or wait do angels come down here and start the things?
-
I used to believe but now I don't. There have been far too many bad things happen that friends/family etc didn't deserve and god wuoldn't have put them through that if he did exist. I hope I am proved wrong but no I don't believe.
-
God does exists. There is a heaven and a hell and we will all go to either one of these places once we die.
-
What proof do you have?you ever met god,or been to heaven or hell?
-
please PLEASE PLEASE!! don't bring up this subject. because I'm really sensitive about this subject and last time it was brought up on here someone said something SO OFFENSIVE and drew me away from A2A for quite a while.
my input, yes He does exist.
-
if your that sensitive about it,then don't read this post.
-
I think we should be able to have a conversation about this without it becoming offensive, although I know that's not how this stuff always works. my thoughts, i think God does exist, it's the only thing I can think of to explain the spark of life in the world. I'm not sure about Jesus, heaven and hell, or that he can effect our lives, but it's a comfort to have someone to turn to at times when there's no one else.
-
Well no one should say anything offensive, just what they believe any personal attacks are uncalled for.
As for myself, I have a control issue so it is hard for me to really accept the whole God thing. If there is there is, just will take me some time to personally figure out my real views on it.

Well, how do you know that the person that Hotpants represents really exists? How do you know that she is really a "she"? Have you ever met her or talked to her in person? No, but you believe it because you trust her, you have faith in her and accept what she says as truth. This is similar with any god.
Personally I do not know if there is a god. I have no belief either way and I'm not gonna say there is or there isn't. When it comes to God and other deities, then we are discussing religion. Religion is when a group of people create an image of something to create order and promote certain ideas in an effort to benefit mankind. They create a symbol for people to love or fear, they create a situation such as Heaven/Hell to give people a reason to be kind to each other. Whether people do it because they want to go to Heaven, or they fear going to Hell, it can work.
But since religion is man made it has no actual connection with the supreme being in question, leaving "His plan" completely open to interpretation and invention. And since humans, a naturally violent and savage race, hate difference we have wars and hate and atrocities are acted out in the name of a being that has no contact with us.
Sorry, I know I seem to be focusing on Christianity here but as I was raised Catholic I just know more about it than others.
Missionary work, which Abby takes part in as she has told us of her trip to Brazil, is not the cruel work that it once was. When they try to convert people from one religion to Christianity then it is wrong because it is trying to change someone's belief. But when they introduce religion to someone then it is often very good. It gives them ideals and a sense of purpose and the motive to be kind to others. People always have the choice to believe and in the end, religion can be forced on someone, but belief can't.
I'm pretty sure that what I just said had no structure what-so-ever and its just a rambling of thoughts. But hey, its what I believe.
-
nevermind, I'm already pissed and reading your post didn't really help.
-
