I seem to find myself on the computer more than anything else in my life. I find it interefering with my art. What's the steps I could do (very easy steps too) to breaking this?P.S. The computer is in my room.

Computer/AIM (chat) addiction

move the pooter out your room maybe??

You could uninstall the IM programs, if you're prepared to go cold turkey, and just talk to people by email, which is slower and therefore less addictive.

No one uses e-mail and I am trying to stop going on the computer so much too.

No one uses e-mail...Wow, everyone needs instant gratification. Are you saying that your friends won't even respond to e-mail?

Find another activity that you like to do. Also, like Ineligible said, uninstall the programs. What you can also do is to tell all your AIM buddies that you will pay them $20 if they catch you signed on.

I used to be addicted to instant messaging also. I would spend hours EVERY DAY talking online. This went on for a long time. Like years. I finally figured out (yeah sometimes I'm a little dense)...that the friends I made online were not really genuine friends. One day I got tired of it, and stopped. I haven't used an instant messenger in over a year. The only thing i do online is read/research, and visit some forums. I don't really know what to tell you about how to quit. Like someone else said, find another hobby to take your mind off chatting. Participate in some online forums and read the news. I found I don't spend nearly as much time on these activities as I did chatting.good luck.
