alright so i was doing some curls wednesday and i didn't feel like i injured anything but now my right bicep hurts really bad when i flex it or extend my arm. in fact im having difficulty extending my arm so it's completely straight. it doesn't hurt unless im trying to do one of those two things, if im not flexing or extending it it doesn't hurt but i certainly can't lift weights right now. so i guess my question is, did i just overexert my muscles (i hadn't done curls in a long time) and it's just really sore, or is it something more serious?

Did i hurt my bicep?

Same thing happened to my last fall while I was in Mexico. Went for a hard workout in the fitness facility there and by the end of the day my bicep was a little stiff. The next day it hurt to go past about 135 degrees. It didn't completely heal for weeks, during which time I was careful not to push it and began doing some very light weight exercises for it with a water bottle as it started getting better. Just give it time and it should heal without long term injury. Remember, rest is the key.
Stay away from arm workouts right now and be careful with anything that puts much strain on the biceps, especially a lot of the back, chest, and shoulder exercises. You can always put more focus into other things during this time. Perhaps do more cardio or pay more attention to your legs and abs.

Does it hurt around your inner elbow? You might've just over trained. The bicep is a tiny muscle that is very easily over trained.

thanks for all the replies, i appreciate it. yea, it hurts on the inside of my arm with the pain seeming to originate from the inside of the elbow joint. my other bicep is actually sore as well in a simliar fashion, but i am able to extent it fully with out difficulty. i'm hoping i just overworked my biceps and they're just worn out, i'll just stay off arm exercies for a while. thanks for the advice

You probably just strained it in some way during your exercise. Maybe you worked your bicep a way in which it hit a certain level that never was reached before. I had this a couple times, and know exactly what you are talking about. Before/in between your sets, stretch your bicep/message your arms and keep it loose so it's not so stale and stiff. Warm ups are important also.
