Jean M. Auel ...Earth's Children Series (Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, Plains of Passage & Shelters of Stone). It is about a Cro-Magnon girl that is taken in by Neanderthals 35,000 years ago and then continues with her journey to find her people. There are 5 books to the series so far and the author did a lot of research before ever writing the books. All books are well over 500 pages, and recommended reads.

'A Child Called IT'. tis about a boy who was abused by his mum, is a true story and is written by the child who was abused, Dave Pelzer. he also wrote two more as follow ons, the 2nd is 'The Lost Boy', and about his teenage years, and 'A Man Named Dave', about his adult life. They are really good and very graphic, goes into great detail about what happened and how his mum abused him. Very good!

I've read those books...They're very good.I like Madeleine L'Engle (sp). She wrote A Wrinkle In Time. It's about a girl who goes looking for her father when he got lost moving through alternate demention.I also like the Narnia Chronicles (CS Lewis). Farenheit 451 (Ray Bradburry). There's so many that I like I can't name them all. I'm a real bookworm I guess you could say... =\ lol

as with so very many things that id class as my 'favourite', its mostly just the most recent good thing. one book that has always stuck in my head though when thinking about my favourite, purely because the world created in it was so very deep for a relatively short book, (who ever heard of a deep sci-fi world not in a trilogy?) is A Game of Universe by Eric S. Nylund (i think anyways). its a pretty hard book to find, and even though i live on a quite remote island it took 3 months on request for the copy to get here. id strongly recommend any fantasy/sci-fi enthusiast to read it
