Fate?

I don't believe in a definitioned fate. Though I believe every single person has a purpose and will acheive the fate meant for them.In example: A man's fate could be to stop a serial killer. How he get's there can be altered by him, but he will do it. How will he do it? Maybe he'll become a detective. Or maybe he'll be a common man who saw something suspicious and tipped the police off with the right information they needed.I've explained this to a few people and most of the resonses I get are: "well what about when a baby dies? What is it's purpose?" Sadly some fates are brighter than others, and maybe that fate was to become a statistic or to prevent some other more tragic event that may have happed if they lived. No matter what your fate, always believe it's bright.

Are you seriously suggesting that God (I assume you believe that this "fate" thing has to do with God) would put a person on this earth for the single purpose of stopping another person (whom he also put here) from doing something? That is ridiculous. In reply to: I've explained this to a few people and most of the resonses I get are: "well what about when a baby dies? What is it's purpose?" Wow...wow...are you also suggesting that a person would be born with the sole purpose of dying...to prevent something they otherwise would have done???That's like walking up to a stranger on the street and handing him a gun, and then you immediately pull out your own gun and kill him. Your excuse? "I didn't want him to kill anyone with that gun I gave him."Your logic is seriously flawed. In fact, I don't think your statements have any logic to them. You must not believe in free will

completely agree. and to say that someone was put on this earth to die? that's completely rediculous. I think life is nothing more then a large test (because i believe in God) to see if you will with free will turn against or turn to God. But I don't completely disagree with the fact that everyone has some niche on this planet. A person that dies very well may help others survive, that's a purpose. Say If you die suddenly or a disease that is known but not widely heard of, then you could very well help out the doctors in writing the pages of the Red Book of Medical Research.

In reply to:I think life is nothing more then a large test (because i believe in God) to see if you will with free will turn against or turn to God. My thoughts exactly. Some branches of Christianity believe in predestiny, whereas God already knows whether you're going to heaven or hell before you're even put on the earth. That, I find, pretty damn sad. It's basically stating you can work your entire life to serving God but something will be put in the way of you and getting into heaven during the course of your life. So it's basically not your fault because it was "planned" that way.Being a Christian, my views will vary from many of yours but I believe God put us each here neutrally, equally and to prove ourselves worthy for heaven.

umm, weirdgirly, i may just have to disagree with you in some things. and that would be the part of predestiny being pretty damn sad...um..i think that everything is a test, yes i'm reiterrating but I believe that God does know what kind of person you would turn out to be, and if you do come to that heaven or hell decisive moment, God will know that you will take the high road and stay the course of the High Road. And therefor, he could put you down into the Book of Life, safely knowing that would surpass any point that would turn you away from Him, and stay the course. Just my thoughts though.

It may sound like a bunch of rediculous nonsense to you and a lot of people. lol. It makes sense to me.

In reply to: I think life is nothing more then a large test (because i believe in God) to see if you will with free will turn against or turn to God I agree.

But God knows everything right? So wouldn't he know to put you in heaven or hell (if it existed) before you were born?

In terms of free will, God does not know everything.
