gonna post anyway seeing as i have an opinion on weddings and im bored grinsNot gonna get married. I see the entire pledge as a meaningless affair. If somebody needs something like a wedding to prove that they are willing to commit, then they arent that willing to commit. Whoever im with should know that Im with them 100% already, and im not gonna go anywhere. Also ive always had an aversion to religion. Weddings are one of the last feet in the door for religions, and the sooner its booted out, the happier ill be anyways.

Even if you're not a romantic, marriage grants several legal advantages. If you’re certain that you want to be with someone, and you’re in a position to make a commitment, you should reap the rewards granted by the State. It's also not true to say that marriage is only a religious institution. Marriage has always defined citizens' relations with the State. It is therefore a secular and civil institution as well. Finally, it serves an almost legally contractual function. (Directed at websex) Oh, and about the "egotistical maniac" bit. My egotism is quite rational- I thus resent only the maniac part of that comment

grins your so cold man. marriage serves an almost legally contractual function? when i read that i just got an image of someone bending down on one knee and handing over a pile of forms. i just dont agree with marriage. im not really saying i wouldnt actually. if the person i cared about saw it as a big thing to them, then id get married. it would go against some of my core beliefs, but bugger em (to put it politely), id still go ahead with it

of course would have all my close friends there (there not that many, wouldnt have to be a big place hehehe), so you would have to be there! hehehe

When I was younger I wanted to be married in a pair of jeans, nice shirt, and my leopard slippers. Then I changed it to a tux on the guy (of course) a nice formal, off white gown for me (kinda plain, off the shoulder) and litte flower girls, etc. We'd have the colors blue and white with green accents and tons of guests (large families). My actual wedding was planned quickly so I could have it in Texas with my family there while on class break. We were outside in the park with about 20 people and everyone was wearing dress casual. My dress was a red, yellow and blue sundress. (I couldn't very well wear white with my mom holding my 6mos. old son standing next to me, now could I?) It was pretty cool. The one dream I've always had was for both my grandfather and my dad to be the pastors (officiators) of my wedding. (Both are ministers) My grandpa did a few prayers and the benediction, and my dad did the actual vows and stuff and signed the license. Yay!
