In reply to: I feel at ease knowing that your father has set the moral values for an entire country set? everyone has an opinion of what morals people should follow, I was merely stating a tiny little bit of his.

As an aside to some of the deeper moral issues in the abortion debate, if you're looking for a link between unwanted children, abortion and crime:Levitt, Steven D. and John J. Donohue. "The Impact of Legalized Abortion on Crime." Quarterly Journal of Economics 116, no.2 (May 2001): 379-420.But also see the response:Joyce, Theodore. "Did Legalized Abortion Lower Crime?" Journal of Human Resources 39(1) (January 2004) pp. 29-49(21)Levitt and Donahue argue that the decline in crime in the 90s was causally linked to legalized abortion (they claim a 50% causal link!). The argument is that many unwanted children who are not aborted are neglected and become criminals. The study tries to control for a number of various other factors, even though I personally think that there are so many variables in the "crime equation" that a 50% link to one variable is somewhat crazy (though I'm not opposed to a smaller causal link).Joyce responds by pointing out a number of factors that he thinks weren't properly controlled. Anyway, as I said, this is a side debate, and it's not (in my opinion) a major reason to legalize abortion (or to keep it legal). It's just a consideration. I didn't link to either paper because even though people have undoubtedly (and illegally) posted these papers on the web, I wouldn't want to make copyright violators out of the good people at A2A
