Drug question

can you describe what the drug is used for and why you were given it?that might help im very interested

I'm sure Max was joking, june. If propranolol put an extra 2" on your penis, we'd all be taking it.

lol i thought it might of been like a testosterone injection or implant considering whatshisname didnt mention what it wasits amazing what medicine can do, for example, testosterone replacment during pubery can achieve everything normal in puberty except for testicle growth due to the fact that scientists have not found a way to replace that part in the brain (with drugs) to grow the testicles.

why were you put on propanolol? migraines?i am taking atenolol, same thing basically. both are beta blockers. i take atenolol because i am hyperthyroid and get a racing heart and palpitations sometimes. the atenolol stops that. i take 50mg a day. occassionally i have to take another before going to bed.beta blockers are not scary drugs to be taking. you should read the package insert and warnings, like any drug you take. or go on the net and look things up. sometimes doctors don't tell you about interactions with the drug you are taking and other drugs or food you eat.

Sorry, it’s been all work and no play at the moment.I started getting palpitations and my heart rate was kicking in at over 90bmp.I’ve had blood tests and everything came back at normal, was getting pretty worried at one time as I thought the anxiety/depression was starting to lurk in again. One of my friends who’s an ECP (who helped me out a lot when I was low), recommended them to me, so when I went to the Doc I asked him on the possibility of trying them, so it wasn’t really the doc who prescribed them. lol he even asked me what dosage I wanted to try.The beta blockers in conjunction with the antidepressants I take, I feel 200% better. I’m still getting the palpitations but not as bad as they were.

Did they test your thyroid? You really should have a blood test for that if you haven't already, just to be sure. If it's not that, I would keep after your doc to find out the cause.Palpitations with no diagnosis isn't a good place to be.

Yeah the checked thyroid, but came out normal, I did get them to run off a copy for my mate to look at, but I can't find where I've put it. I also got my mate to come round and run off an 12 Lead ECG, but that just showed me as bradycardic which is usual for me as my normal resting hr is 55-60bpm.At first I thought it might be SVT but hr never reached the peaks and I didn’t have the other symptoms. At the moment I’m trying to adjust my diet cutting out stimulants as a trial and error, but this hasn’t helped

i hope you find out the cause. my heart rate was 145 bpm (!) i also had shaking hands. much better now with thyroid meds and the atenolol.
