Last night I found a pea sized lump that's hard on the shaft of my penis, I'm just wondering what it could be? I've never had sex so this isn't an STD

Found lump on shaft of penis, what could it be?
-
It's probably some sort of cyst, or perhaps a boil, but a pea-sized lump should be checked out by a doctor.
-
Is it anything serious? It's like a kernel, might be a bulging vein, but I'm not sure
-
You need to go to the doctor just in case it's something serious. Most likely it's not and can be easily fixed, but you need to make sure.
-
I'm going to go Monday or Wednesday, but by fixed do you mean it will require surgery?...
-
good move, nothing can beat advice from a doctor imo.
-
But could it be anything serious?

That's whay you're going to the doctor to find out. He will let you know. Please keep us posted.
-
K, I don't like the fact no one is responding with anything,...not really calming my nerves
-
Most likely it will be a cyst, which may either go away without doing anything, or can be removed with very minor surgery under local anaesthetic.
-
Ok, I hope it's not a cyst, most logical thing I found was the trombosed vein or whatever
-
This is rather unusual and the reason that you are not get the answer you are looking for is probably because no one knows. That's why we suggested you see a doctor. There's nothing to be stressed about. It's probably something very minor.

Sebaceus cyst, two questions I forgot to ask is how they happen and how do I avoid worsening it? (I don't want to get an infection/bigger and have it removed)
-
Sebaceous glands produce sebum, a white greasy stuff that acts as the skin's natural moisturiser. They mostly sit at the base of hair follicles and dischage into the follicle. Sebaceous cysts happen when a sebaceous gland's outlet gets blocked but it keeps producing sebum, so it swells up and gets bigger and bigger and harder until eventually the pressure inside kills it and they then slowly fade away. The blockage most often occurs at places where clothes often rub, like the neck. Presumably this can encourage the skin to grow over the follicle and cause a cyst. The best thing to do to avoid worsening it is to leave it alone as best you can.
