Quick question...do you play anything other than the guitar?
-
well idk bout that but i do play the meat guitar lol and i play it quite well if i do say so myself
-
Yea, Drums, bass, Clarinet Flute Trumpet and Piano. The ones i can play like flawlessly at least i can play mostly anything but yea those are the once i can play without actually making a mistake lol
-
oh and wanna learn bass too otherwise piano
-
Bass is super easy once you know how to play the electric guitar. Carefull big difference between acoustic 12 string 14 string and electric acoustic etc lots of guitars lol.The bass 4 strings are the 4 first strings from the guitar. exactly same name and same notes!
-
oooo ok
-
Well, then pardon me but it would seem that if you play all those insruments like you say you do that you would think guitar tab would be easier to read.
-
Nope it looks easier but not to me, i learnt notation first so i got used that, and now i like notation better. Plus I play alot of Classical too. Have you heard of Minuet in G by Bach. Yes thats the first Bach song i learnt such a nice piece and easy too!!
-
Well....I play the guitar, the cello, the violin, the viola, and my primary instrument that I practice more than anything and is the basis of which I taught myself the rest of the instruments I play is the piano. I also sing. I don't know if that last statement about Minuet in G being an easy piece was your attempt at taking a shot at my musical knowledge but the very first song I learned when I started learning to play the piano was no 'child's piece'. It was actually Polonaise In C# Minor (Chopin Op. 26, No. 1) Here...my repertoire:Prelude ~ Bach (No. 1 from Well-tempered Clavichord)Sonatina ~ Muzio Clementi, Op. 36, No.1Sonatina No. 2 in F ~ BeethovenToccata ~ Pietro Domenico ParadiesAlbumblatt ~ Beethoven (you may know it as Fur Elise)Serenade (Standchen) ~ SchubertLose Blatter (Flying Leaves) ~ Carl Kolling. Op. 147, No. 3Venetian Boat-Song No. 2 ~ Mendelssohn, Op. 30, No. 62me Mazurk ~ Benjamin GodardI also play a number of other songs by great composers and some other less known composers. But by far and away my favorite piece that I've learned to play is by Modeste Moussorgsky. Perhaps you've heard of it - it is called 'Night On Bald Mountain'. Originally it was a 32 page piano solo, which I have in my possession. It was later tranposed into an orchestral piece. But just a guess here...I would think that you would feel that a composer would not be known by just the way he can make a note move on a page but by how he can make his music move the heart of another person.

Ahh the Violin im the next in line of the throne to receive my great(X4) grand fatthers violin its worth over 2 million, after my aunt i get it yay.Minuet in G is actually easy,i play it off memory now. On classical i do alot of Bach Beethoven and Mozart. Their pieces are so complex looking at the music actually hurts my head lol. "Transposing" their music to guitar takes way too long! I love playing the Classical guitar or the violin and such...so soft sound! I do try to incorpate classical in to my rock songs like and ex Zeppelins Kashmir. The violins are the rhythm in there. For me i used to be able to do Tanz a hard piece on the guitar especially for my age! and Moonglight sonata and Fur Elise. Ode to joy is so simple well on the guitar that i do it off memoery lol! Yea im still learning more instruments to play everyday. All my courses are with music and im going to keep studying for my whole life!! I wish only my parents cared...

I love how you are only proclaiming well known pieces. This is great fun.
-
oooo heres one can you do Allegro or any Preludes on the Violin , I tried learning some but i have know some technique to play them. I know just Allegro Prelude 1 3 5 7 and 9 very nice pieces but i want to know more of these pieces.
-
Those are awfully common pieces there PurpleStain. Do you know any by less known composers?
What about Haydn, Liszt, Strauss, Rameau, or Benda?
I play Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise, and Ode To Joy. I also play Adagio Cantabile (Pathetique Sonata)which by the way is also from the movie Immortal Beloved. But like I said..those are more common pieces that everyone learns to play at some point.
-
That's great the you know Allegro and Preludes on the violin PurpleStain. But who wrote them? You know there are only several people that decided to write 'Allegro' and 'Prelude'. And yes I can play several of those pieces on the violin, the viola and the cello. I competed in competitions across my state from the time I was in jr. high through high school. I finished No. 1 in the state I live in and received the highest ratings every time - 1+. I've beeen playing a musical instrument since I was in the second grade. So I'm not sure why you're trying to compete with me on who knows more about music. I just don't quite get it. I mean...I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm just letting you know that there are people out there who know a bit more about music than you do. It's nothing personal. I've just a had a lot of experience with it.
