If you are depressed, then go see a doctor, who can give you more help than the people here.

Dramamine
-
I know everything the doctors going to say. It's so predictible, if he can't talk it out of me he will prescribe me with something.
-
Isn't it worth a try though? You got to admit that it's gotta be better than constantly being stressed out and depressed.
-
Are you saying that he might be able to "talk you out of it" (through some kind of counseling sessions)? And you wouldn't consider either an anti-anxiety drug or an antidepressant? They can have unwelcome side effects (and it varies for each person), but sometimes they don't, and they seem to really help some people cope. I don't know how serious your depression is, or even if you technically are depressed, but there are people who have to choose between not being able to function or taking an antidepressant.
-
It's serious enough for another psychologist it's not serious enough for an anti-depressint which I wouldn't take. I've contemplated suicide but I've never attempted.
-
Why are you so squarely set against the idea of antidepressants, under any circumstances? A psychologist is not an MD and can't prescribe drugs, but a chat with one might be helpful.
-
I've just never been a fan of then for some reason, I don't know why, my mom probably had an influence on that.
I've actually had a chat with a psychiatrist/pyschologist and she [psychiatrist] pretty much said "you have a problem, get over it". The he [psychologist] said suggested that it is hormones because I couldn't come up with a reason why I'm depressed. -
You need to see someone who's actually competent, rather than someone who arbitrarily places blame because he can't figure out what to do.First of all, you might benefit from talking to a psychologist, social worker, psychiatrist, etc. You may also benefit from antidepressants, if depression is harming the quality of your life. I don't take lightly the idea of taking antidepressants, but they appear to be effective for some people. I know (at least) two people who benefitted from them, one short-term, and the other, longer-term.Doing nothing isn't going to get you anywhere.
-
Yea, they're both charactered disordered assholes that don't do their job, but whatever.SteveA: I'm not taking antidepressiants no matter what you said stop pushing it on me please!
-
Just trying to understand why...
You're free to do as you wish.
-
I answered a little while ago, I know you're trying to help but I just don't like those things
-
I just don't like those thingsThat's the impression I got. If nothing else works, you're free to remain depressed. It's your body.
-
Intelligible is helping me sort of
-
Same difference
-
Illegible?
-
shut up
-
That's what another board member calls him. I think he's joking.
-
I attempted the dramamines today they didn't do anything except make me tired.
-
I amped up the dosage and still nothing happened
-
What are you expecting? It'll just make you more tired. Same with over-the-counter antihistamines. I don't think you'll get very far with self-medication.They say a person who represents himself in court has a fool for a lawyer....
