why is the pubic hair thick then my normal hair...this is something ive always wondered
Hair on different parts of the body is different in courseness, in density, in curliness, in maximum length, and in colour. The hair on top of your head, your eyebrows, eyelashes and facial hair are all different, and that's just your head.
There have been some speculations as to why humans have pubic hair, but no-one really knows.
There are theories as to why humans have pubic hair, but they are only theories:
1 - The pubic hair is oily and may aid in lubrication during sex, although I think it doesn't make a difference with that. But that's the theory.
2 - The pubic hair traps and enhances sexual scents (pheremones) around the genitals, making them stronger to attract the opposite sex. This one I think is very true. If you think about it, hair attracts scents and odors, traps them, and makes them stronger. Also, curly, thick and oily hair attracts and retains more odors and scents than thin, straight, dry hair. For example, the hair in armpits makes underarm odor (b.o.) much stronger than if there was no hair there. Actually, armpit hair is very similar to pubic hair. Coincidence? I don't think so.
3 - Pubic hair may be a visual indication of sexual prowess, kind of like a sign to the opposite sex to "hey! look down here!"
