Batrafen contains ciclopirox (ciclopiroxolamine). If it's not working, it may well be that this particular fungus is resistant to it. There are many alternative antifungals.

Jock itch question!!

But the doc told me batrafen is the best cream out there against fungus. :frowning:
-
He may be going on what the drug company told him.
Anyway, something can be the best generally, but not work against your particular strain.

how fast should a cream show results when it is working?i have been using it for 6 days now and nothing improves:(
-
It's usual to see an improvement within three days, so it does seem to be not very effective in this case. It won't hurt to keep using it, though - it's probably better than nothing - until you get something else.
-
on monday I'll call the doc and ask him about my results.this cream disappoints me or maybe the jock itch which i haveis really strong. i had the scaling for weeks and didnt start using the cream because i thought i can also do it later but then I scratched a bit and the area became totally red and then i started to use the cream. maybe the damage is already too big for the cream to work.

The circles and scaling make me think of ring worm (not to uncommon if your around any animals) it seems to like finding tender skin and taking over.Ask your doc about that when you go back. It too is a fungus, but not just standard jock itch.

wow, this sounds scary :frowning:

I think the cream which I have is against ringworm, too.The red spots are shading off a bit but very very slowly.
