I wish I could join you. I think they're the all time greatest rock group. Enjoy.

That's the name of a tribute band that tours around. No John Fogerty in that one.
-
Ahhh.. Saw a commercial on TV.. I really don't follow that stuff anyways.
-
actually Im a big CCR fan.if the shit I heard is right then what this is is CCR minus Foggerty.remember the law suites a ways back? in the end it was the brek up of CCR and the fact that Fogerty was and is the voice of CCR.This is the original band with out John doing vocals.Course i could be wrong, i have not looked into it, just what I was told when I asked my brother when i saw they would be playing near me soon and wondered about the revisited name instead of the revival name.
-
so its two of the originals, but I can tell you by a cd I was tricked into buying (the hits of CCR in huge letters and in tiny little bastards under that at the bottom of the front it said as performed by studio some shit...with no Foggerty, its nto CCR no matter if the music is played exactly the same or not. John was CCR.Ill be skipping them when they get here, But Id attend a John Foggerty concert in a heart beat. His shit he did after CCR was dust still sounds like CCR..centerfield and the like, and he still does the old songs as well.
-
seems that CCR songs translated well into my world as well with several covers.Fortunate Son was covered by Circle JerksEven my old band did a cover of Bad Moon Rising. If you can imagine it being belted out at basically double tempo, lasting just over a minute
-
It may of sounded good, but it was no CCR. Iv heard covers, changed up a bit, a bit different tempo, maybe longer solos, the shit people do to try to make it different and a bit of their own. Not all fo them were bad, but none of them were CCR.Remember the old Stones song "Paint it Black" ?Helloween did a cover of it, its one of the few covers I have heard that I like as well as the original. I highly recommend it.
-
have you heard WASP's cover of Paint it Black?Blacky Lawless... now he was a cheese-monger of mythic proportions!
-
WASP = We Are Such Perverts
-
ya know I Fuck Like a Beast

nope never heard that one, but I do love wasp! That shit or priest or metallica or megadeth, some gwar, the sexpistols, alice cooper(especiallt rasie your fist album) thats the shit tha was on my radio in my car all the fucking time in the late 80s, in fact its still on my radio more times than not today.
what ws teh live album Wasp did? live in the raw I believe, Blackie has a lovely speach on there.
they said that they think that we are sexual perverts! now this is coming from a group called the wassums and wives, I dont know about to you, but to me that sounds like some sort of jackie collins hollywood fuckin novel if you ask me...This is for that whole bunch, they can suck me, shuck me eat me raw this is harder FASTER...... I shall never forget that album! it also had the manimal and scream untill you like it. fucking good times.
Or the intro to grim reapers fear no evil... There is nothing made that way today, its fucking emo boo hoo baby bullshit.
Im glad that I grew up in the levi jacket and leather pants era, Im glad we were nto pussys and rap was rarely fucking heard. -
tell ya what's been burning my ass lately... that Carrie Underwood shit about Cheating. Scrathing up his truck and carving her inicals in his seats. Meanwhile, he still gets to bang the little flooseyHalf the chicks I know think this is some sort of anthem! Shit, they don't know from "revenge songs"What ever happend to carving your inicials into the actual person who's buggin ya?Before I Hit the Rubber Room - The Freeze"I'm gonna take that girl and punch out all the hatered she has shown.before I hit the rubber room, my evil will have grown"I think that expresses a bit more EMOtion than singing about keying a car. I'm not avocationg violence or vandalism, just advocating singing about it

I thoguht we were discussing revenge songs? not just violence.
speaking of revenge songs... Alanis morissette "You Oughta Know", The subject of the song, an ex-boyfriend (widely rumored to be Dave Coulier of television's Full House fame.
Yes yes i fucking know, chance listens to hat shit?
fuck yeah i do, I have a wide range of tastes in music.I want you to know, that I'm happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me
Would she go down on you in a theatre
Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent motherCause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, till you died
But you're still aliveAnd I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta knowYou seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck herCause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, til you died
But you're still aliveAnd I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta knowCause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me
And I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back
I hope you feel it...well can you feel itAnd I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta knowI find alot of good in many different styles of music

well, ok, that last song was violent and I think it was the stage in my life at the time it came out that had it stuck in my head with a revenge sense to it.I actually like "you autta know" too. It's a good one and was such a surprise considering the last music I'd herad by Alanis was bubble gum dance popI think the guy in question was actually an OHL player from Ottawa
