'Nother question. My old thread isn't far down, but I figured I might as well just make a new one since it's a different question.About Saturday or Sunday I had unprotected sex twice with my boyfriend. Last month I didn't have my period because I took my birth control pills at irregular times, and this month I've been taking them fairly when I'm supposed to. Maybe missing by at least an hour or two. I know birth control usually takes a month to regulate again... What are my chances of being pregnant? He didn't come inside me.
-
Hm. Help?
-
Pretty low I would think.
-
i can't help with the birth control part but i'd just like to say having sex and not cumming inside doesn't necesarily mean you wont get pregnant. There are many spermatazoa in pre cum too meaning there is a very high chance if you did have sex and he didn't cum inside that you could be pregnant. But as your on the pill that chance is extremely low.Hawk

That's just not entirely true.
#1. It's not a given that there are ANY sperm in precum
#2. Even if there were SOME.. that doesn't make it a VERY HIGH chance. -
Ahh, I see. I was just worried because I didn't give my birth control a full month to regulate again since I messed up taking it last month and missed my period. Buttt I went and got a test just in case. Is it okay to take one a week or so after having sex? Will it still be fairly accurate?
-
Most tests ask you to wait until the period is due. Some will work a few days before that, but that's about all, I think.

"#1. It's not a given that there are ANY sperm in precum#2. Even if there were SOME.. that doesn't make it a VERY HIGH chance."My apologies, but this urban myth really must be affronted- in an average quality spermcount of precome, studies show that there are around 3 clusters of around 3 million sperm within this form of ejaculate; the average spermcount amounting to 10 million sperm. In short, if four couples used the "pull out" technique for a year, then at least one of them would become pregnant by the end of that year.Sorry, back to the original question, the chances of you being pregnant are very low- the most common pills such as Logynon and Microgynon 30 give immediate protection, and this lasts for approx 3 days, if in doubt, take a pregnancy test which is accurate from 4 weeks after having sex.Hope this helps

My apologies, but this urban myth really must be affronted- in an average quality spermcount of precome, studies show that there are around 3 clusters of around 3 million sperm within this form of ejaculate; the average spermcount amounting to 10 million sperm. I call BS, unless you can provide credible sources. Precum is produced by the Cowpers Gland which in itself has NO sperm. IF and I say IF... sperm has leaked past the prostate and/or there is residual sperm from a previous ejaculation, then and only then, can it mix with precum and produce positive results for spermcount.
-
I am forced to agree with you.provided that you agree that it is possible to become pregnant from it based on leakage or previous sperm being present in the tube that gets washed down with it.You did not rule that out, just stated that its not present in it with out those circumstances, but you did not go so far as to agree before that it is possible to get knocked up from that small amount. or at least you did not in this particular thread.

On a side not, a friend of mine trying to start a family used the before you miss that period tests, hoping to have a pregnant wife.the results showed negative, a week later positive, and a couple days later, negative.2 weeks later, in a doctors office, the result was confirmed positive.the before tests are not always accurate, nor are the after tests always accurate. However, on the 4th of July, there were fireworks of more than one sort in his bedroom, as she is indeed pregnant, as of the doctors office last week.

It was never my intention. Of course you can impregnate if you have sperm present however consider this.. Normal sperm count is 20+ Million/ml. Below this and the guy has fertility issues. Dribbling some sperm into the precum does not create a high probability of impregnation.. Not zero!! but not high either.

Goodness, didn't expect that burst of comments.
Anyways, I was supposed to start a day or two ago so I went ahead and took one of the tests. It came out negative, but just to be safe, I'll take the other in a couple of weeks. May have just missed my period again because I messed up and forgot to take my pill a few times.
