Does anyone know anything about this condition? For those of you that don't, it's commonly considered as a "undescended" testicle. I am 32 yrs old and my left testicle retracted when I was about 5 yrs old and I was reluctant to say anything about it. I have 2 children now and I was married for a few years and had no problems except for intermittent pain. Now the pain is getting progressively worse and getting and maintaining an erection is becoming more difficult. I seen a doctor about this 4 years ago and he treated me like some kind of freak which confirmed my reluctancy I had about telling anyone in the first place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
That doctor was an idiot. Don't be scared or turned away by fools like that, ask around and find another.
Given that the testicle has been undescended for so long, it is virtually non-functional any more. You do need to have it removed though. The problem with undescended testicles is that the testicle does not like warm/hot places, it can't be examined for problems and the chances of testicular cancer are much higher in these conditions. Given the fact that they can't be examined, the mortality rate is much higher becasue the cancer is undetected until it is too late. Given that you have pain, I would highly recommend finding a new doctor who will treat you seriously. Let us know how things turn out.
yeah i a friend who had that problem, but he was able to get it taken care of.
Yes, definitely get a different doctor - the one you are seeing now is clearly incompetent. It's scary, but there are a lot of incompetent doctors out there who have no clue what they are doing. I always recommend getting 2 or 3 opinions from different doctors on major situations. And do your own research.
When I had my varicocele problem, I knew more about my condition than my original doctor did. I demanded to see a urologist, and when I did, the urologist said I was 100% correct and my primary doctor was completely wrong.l
My avatar is a picture of my own sperm under a microscope. Pretty cool huh?
Drugs are garbage. I'm high on my own testosterone.
I'm not sure how it happened...the little guy was there and then it disappeared when I was about 5 years old.The memory of it is kinda cloudy. It didn't stop me from having children or cause me any problems with my sex life. My wife and I were married 2 yrs before she even knew about my problem. But now the constant pain is really starting to affect every aspect of my life.
Pain is the body's way of telling you there IS a problem. You should definately get a second opinion.
