do failure push ups. Do 4-7 sets of those. Failure is when you go to until you cannot go anymore.

Try adding 1 push up more than you did the previous day. For example: If you start today then you do 30 push ups. Tomorrow make yourself do 31. Then the day after that do 32. In 50 days, if you're consistent, you'll get up to 80.

if all you want to do is do more pushups then you need to focus on the muscles involved in the exercise, chest-shoulders-tris. Weight train them. You need to train for endurance. Add weight to your back while doing pushups. Even if you haveta drop reps, you'll get stronger that way.

Isn't it better to do them every other day rather than everyday?
The reason I say this is because surely you need time for your muscles to recover or grow. I've noticed that when I leave a day in between doing push-ups I am able to do a lot more... in my experience.
