Blacks fought for their rights to be recognized as people...which they are. You're saying that's the same as fighting for the rights for one of the two males in a homosexual couple to be recognized as a female, which he's not. Clear now?

Gay Marrage
-
WHAT? LOLI think you are beyond lost. When did I say I was fighting for one person in a gay male relationship to be considered a female? I never have. A marriage is not and should not be based one a male and a female but instead it should be based on love and being in a unity of love. The point is that like the black movement we are fighting for equal rights and treatment and to be recognized as full citizens, not second-rate citizens that have to pay full taxes but yet get half the benefits. Now go back and answer my questions unless you are avoiding them because you have no answers.
-
The way I see it, if you love someone with all of your heart and soul and you want to be with them (regaurdless of your gender) then I say go for it! Who am I or anyone else to stand in your way of happieness. Just because a person is a homosexual doesn't make them any less of a human being than me or anyone else and who am I to say it's wrong and unnatural? It's not my place, and it's not anyone else's either. A marriage should not be based one a male and a female but instead it should be based on love two people have for one another and the unity it brings between them. It just pisses me off to no end to hear people be so closed minded on this subject!

I sooo knew you weren't American! You're too cool!.... for school. You're a master-(de)bater, Ilegible!Whats the main topic of this again? Marriage or Religion?
-
Whats the main topic of this again? Marriage or Religion? Unfortunately when you talk about Gay Marriage in the context of the USA, religion (Again unfortunately) will be brought into the subject.
-
I brought that up at the beginning of this thread the other day, You now have brought it up again a couple of days after.
as of this post, there still is not a single reply posted that addresses that or even acknowleges it. Its like if yo dont like something you simple put up allk your own horse shit instead of addressing it, if you ignore it long enough it will go away, or atleast get burried under so much more shit that people forget about it. -
I've seen a few posts now that say marriage should not be about male/female. That's fine...you have a right to an opinion on that. But the fact is that IS part of what marriage is about. Just get over it and move on. I suppose at this point it's only fair to answer the original post. Allowing "gay marriage" would destroy what marriage means in this country. In the Bible it says that the marriage-bed is undefiled...allowing homosexual "marriage" would introduce into the marriage-bed something that God refers to as an abomination...thereby destroying part of what it now means to be married for us all (as this part, among others, would have to be "removed" from the meaning and implications of marriage). Marriage is an institution that God is a part of...since God is against homosexual relations (not homosexuals themselves), allowing them to "marry" would destroy what it means to be married by necessarily removing God from the equation (and the definition). Whether you believe in God or the Bible, or not, makes no difference...the result is the same.

In reply to:Christians are the most tolerant lot on the planet,OMFG THAT'S LAUGHABLE.I agree with eddie, what fantasy world are you on? In reply to:I've seen a few posts now that say marriage should not be about male/female. That's fine...you have a right to an opinion on that. But the fact is that IS part of what marriage is about. no,that is not a part of marriage!as eddie said many times, but you refuse to answer,or don't have an answer to,the bible originaly stated that marriage was between two people who love each other, not a man and a woman!so far,you havn't had even one good reason why a gay couple shouldn't be able to get married.
-
If you read my post and thought about it you'd already have your answer instead of asking me. Here is just one excerpt from the Bible referencing marriage. There are tons of others that are quite easy to find if you are really interested in learning the truth and not just jumping on the latest politically correct bandwagon.1Cor.7[36] But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. Now lets see somebody post a reference to a man/man or woman/woman marriage. Good luck.

We've had this disagreement before. Get yourself a few books, do some research and get a clue. You refuse to, or can't back up your claims. You are an exercise in frustration. I've done enough reading on the subject (a lot) that I feel quite confident in disagreeing with you.You are not a Constitutional scholar. You have made an outlandish claim. Back it up, or give it up.What you are saying is not true, and is highly, highly offensive to every citizen of the U.S. who is not a brainwashed fundamentalist. This is not Christian nation. The Constitution's first amendment forbids prohibiting the free exercise of religion, but it also prohibits the establishment of a religion by the government. Does that not include the Christian religion? Why would the framers be so coy when they could have easily included language about God, or Christianity specifically, in the document.Do you think that Thomas "wall of separation" Jefferson would have agreed with you? The framers were aware of the problems entanglement between state and church creates. They understood history in a way that you are apparently unable to. Salem witch trials, anyone?

ntro> Will I debate that our founding fathers were Christians?
Well I certainly would, because they were largely theists, although there were some Christians among them. If the founding fathers could come back and see where we are, they would be appalled by this discussion.
The idea that the Construction is an adjunct to the bible is a lie, pure and simple. Fundamentalists have the idea that civilization sprang from the bible, when in fact the opposite is true. It didn't take the 10 Commandments for people to accept as a cultural norm, for example, that murder (of people of one's own culture) is not acceptable. There are morally upright, functional societies that have never been exposed to the bible. Doesn't that lay waste to the thorien confusion?
thor> Christians are the most tolerant lot on the planet,
You have got to be kidding. Crusades? Witch trials? Centuries of persecution of Jews? Dark Ages? You? "Tolerant" and "liberal" (the non-political definition) are intimately connected. You are neither. So those who don't accept Jesus as their personal savior are damned to eternal torment in molten brimstone. Is that your idea of tolerance?
"Fundamentalist" is an antonym for "tolerant".
Ntro, understand that folks like thor were not at the vanguard of the civil rights movement in the 50's and the 60's. Although there were many righteous religious figures involved, the thoriens were standing at the door of the university, keeping out blacks. They were the ones demanding that black women get out of their bus seat. They were the ones who were happy to have blacks drink from separate water fountains. They were the ones who didn't shed a tear each time a black man was found swinging by his neck. Many of the thoriens justified their belief in their own superiority and dominion in bible passages.
Fundamentalism is the mortal enemy of democracy. It was demonstrated in Europe hundreds of years ago; it's demonstrated in the Middle East every day. Why would we want it in our government, with it's muddy boot on the neck of our democracy?
-
thor, you can take your bible quote and shove it. We're not Afghanistan under the Taliban here, and we're not in the Vatican. You can believe what you want about God's ideas, since you think you know Him so well, but you will be drowned by the tide of history, and the racial separationists have been in this country.Same-sex marriage has been a fait accompli in Massachusetts for several years, and so far marriange between men and women, or marriage in general, has not been compromised. The citizens of that state have come to realize that you are full of crap, and the idea of same-sex marriage has become quite popular there. That, in a state with a large Catholic population. The passage of time is making you irrelevant.
-
Sorry for off-topic mods. What? Can you not fit bullshit now in 1 post? I think he gets it now. You have some serious issues with religion and religiouse people! You have stated the same damn thing in you're post. I think people get it! Damn Hypocrits!!
-
You have nothing useful to say other than to attack a poster, so feel free to get out of this thread, my uneducated friend. Or do you have something cogent to add? I didn't think so.I will ask the question until it is answered. Or should it be obvious that the lack of an anwer indicates...a lack of an answer?
-
Idiot! Ntro already explaied to me what I already added. Maybe you can stop being a hypocrit and stop attacking Thor? Or is that too complex for you?
If I can add something I will, usually Ntro answeres it for me if it's homosexuality.
You're not even religious! How can you even know so much about it.
Maybe you can stop actually proving all of this. Write an essay!
-
You're not even religious! How can you even know so much about it.Let me introduce you to some new vocabulary: Education. Research. Reading. Books. Libraries. Bookstores. Universities. There are other relevant terms, but you get the idea.I know more about the contents of the scriptures than the average Christian or Jew that I meet. But the religious argument is an irrelevant side show when we're talking about the legal system of the United States. How many times have I asked you this question? A hundred or so? Do you have anything useful or relevant to add, arrogant young man? Honestly, if you were quiter, we would know what an ignoramous you are.
-
You're an idiot. and an hypocrit. I'm not going to sit here and waste my time with your stupity if you can't read! Maybe this thread can open some minds. But with you in it, it will just close it! Fuck, you truly are the stupid! Why don't you now go read the bible?
-
Iv read and reread the entire thread, you quote a work of man and spout bullshit all day but since your the one that really has spoken out on this I want you to answer one simple thing.
Bussie asked for a simple explanation "2/If you are are opposed to same sex unions, can you let me know what sort of detrimental effect these unions would have on your lives?"
Youv done everything but address that.
All the god bullshit aside, what detramental effect does it give to any man woman or child on the planet to allow it? -
State your specific issue. No specific issue? I guess we're done.
-
Steve alredy told youhe had read the bible, as wel as several other works of fiction. Steve quoted bible verses to you, Id think that implied he had a pretty god damned good knowledge of the work in question to find and quote those passages.I really have to question your reading comprehension.Mr U seems to understand what is written so instead of debating the bible why dont you go write an essay on how canadias school system has failed sincef Mr U left it, and you began it. Post it ina nnew thread, and then maybe we can ascertain if its really the schools fault, of if its just that you cant be taught and refuse to comprehend the information given to you by the schools and teachers.
