I dont get why people go so crazy about hating Bush. Its politics, so he sucks, and clinton and the guys before him suck to. Im gona make a prediticion to the next guy is gona suck to. its just the way it is. So why get so hairy about it. Hes the president so just live with it and mabye get a hobbie.

George W. Bush

so just live with it Just live with it???? What about the consequences for you and me? Do you even fathom HOW MUCH money is being wasted on these wars which could have been better spent elsewhere? I'm sure someone can dig up the money spent so far. And this is only part of the equation.
-
and they say war is good for the economy! Jeez! Seems like that theory was proven wrong, well exept for WW I and II.

2 trillion dollars, to be paid for by our offspring, when they grow up. 6200 civilians dead in Iraq in July and August. Thousands of American soldiers killed. Many, many thousands badly wounded or maimed. Possibly 2 trillion dollars spent before all is said and done. No spending bill ever vetoed, save one, no matter how egregiously wasteful. The single exception: authorizing federal funds to be spent on embryonic stem cell research. Not much progress in pursuing alternative energy sources (in fact, a tariff is going on ethanol imports from Brazil...so much for the free market). Not much progress on security in the "homeland"; hardly any cargo that goes through seaports is inspected; likewise for cargo that goes on passenger airplanes. So much of the world hating the U.S., after we had so much sympathy, is evidence of hideously bad political leadership. And all we get is fear mongering, bullying people into letting him have his way, by talking terror, terror, terror. Isn't it interesting how the terror color level would increase at every politically opportune time?Bush still talks about the "war on terror" as if nothing new happened the past five years. And we have a Congress that will not do its oversight job. That's why their approval rating is down to 25%, almost as low as the vice president's.Why is it worth talking about? Because mid-term elections are just around the corner.

I love george bush
-
You always say that, but you never say why. So, why do you like him? Just curious.
-
she likes him because she lives in canada J/K
-
I dont think i really like Bush but one thing i like about it him hes like a real man. its like he say im gona kick some ass then he kicks it. I dont know about clinton either but he was cool he seems like he would be like dad that lets you have parties and buy you beer and stuff. I dont really know the dude before him but im sure did something good. Im just saying every one isnt really good or bad about everything.
-
I dont think i really like Bush but one thing i like about it him hes like a real man. its like he say im gona kick some ass then he kicks it.That might qualify him to be a boyfriend or a football player, but I don't see how it qualifies him to be president.Add up the number of war dead and injured in Iraq, the fact that North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan are great dangers, and the fact that domstic security is so poor (seaports, airports, etc.), and it appears that we're kicking our own ass.I don't get the whole macho thing. Haven't we made any progress in the past few thousand years?pinkranger4> I love george bushAny particular reason? Do you think he's done anything disagreeable?
-
sometimes I feel pressured into liking him because of some of my Christian friends and elders who like him for his beliefs and strong actions against abortions and things like that. But I understand that just because someone may have the same beliefs as you doesn't mean you have to love them. I don't hate Bush. I think that he could be doing a better job with the crisis in the Middle East. So many innocent people are dying over there and he seriously just needs to move the troops out of there sparing their lives and the native's lives and let this civil war handle itself. The US needs to try not to butt into everything. It's good to help but try and let them have a little independence. Bush isn't my favorite guy he seems to be.... confused and needs to go back to daddy. But I will support him and just hope things go well. As long as he isn't a Communist or something exterminating people by the thousands out of hatred I'll just do what I can to help out. I think it's ok to disagree with your Presidential official but not curse him and spout spiteful words.
-
Damn! You're fast A.W Pink, the guy isn't even your President! Why does it matter? His actions wont affect us! (Unless he cancels trades or attacks us! but then we can run to Britain!)
-
I feel he's not doing a good job with the Middle East. In what regard is he doing a good job? What are his accomplishments?
-
I like him.. everyone rags on him.. he isnt that bad.its something i dont need to expand on.
-
A.W. agrees with JapanFan? I am so shocked!! I was not expecting that!
-
I like him.. everyone rags on him.. he isnt that bad.I think, as someone who calls himself a man of faith and who is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of so many thousands of people (6200 Iraqis in July and August alone, not to mention all the American soldiers who have been killed and maimed), he completely sucks ass. He just spouts the same talking points he did five years ago, as if nothing happened. If he is nice to his wife and dog, that is fine, but as a president, there are big problems. He also has been hostile to the environment and public lands. Even many politically-conservative hunters are concerned. And didn't Canada have a tariff imposed on its lumber by the "free trading" Bush people? Now there's a tariff on ethanol imports from Brazil. As if Bush's people had a single useful idea on energy policy.I can understand that people think Bush is a nice guy, or they might like the homey way he talks, or think he's cute, but can you understand why some people might have a problem with him? When running for office, he claimed to be a "uniter, not a divider", but, like Clinton, he brings out the worst in the people who don't agree with him. But at least Clinton had good relations with most of the rest of the world; I'd wager that most of the world's population hates Bush, even after all the sympathy there was right after 9/11. That is very bad for the United States.
-
Yea SteveA you do have a point there. Im south african and i can tell you 95% of everyone i know hates him and well thinks americans are idiots.I know this would be a huge generalisation and there are lots of free thinking individuals out there but that seems to be the impression of the people here.I suppose because the country is so big it is easy to feel like it's a little world inside its own.The general impression is that majority of americans have no clue what the hell is going on outside of the country. Not trying to insult anyone at all...just giving an outside perspective.
-
I wonder where everybody outside of America gets these ideas about what Americans know and think? My guess is that in the vast majority of cases it wouldn't be from the average American...if an American at all.
-
It stems from the general anti-americanism arising from resentment (sometimes envy) of American power and cultural influence. Just take no notice of it unless you know that the person spekaing it has actual and realistic political beliefs.
-
I think it is a image created through the media but also through the perception of your goverment in that a supposed majority actually elected bush.So he portrays america in a rather...well bad light.
-
Oh and strap....that may be the case in some instances. But most definately not all. Its ignorant to think that everytime someone is anti-american/(questions american actions) it is because they envy american power. Cultural influence most definately has its place in indoctrinating young individuals against say america but there are many free thinking people out there that can follow their own brain.I would say pre 911 america had a very different "image" to the one it has now. The iraq war has cost many unnecessary lives on both sides and created a power hungry at whatever cost image to many people.
