is it just me or does the media only focus on bad and makes good a footnote?
Is it just me or...
MY SIG ROCKS YOUR SIG'S SOCKS OFF!
bofore you arrived here, I've made several posts about the problems with the US media and news,
Basically, you are all fed propiganda and shite.
The American public is kept in the dark about world events.

bad* sells more. Like watching a train wreck, you wanna know what happened. If you saw a train moving along normally you wouldn't care. Same with bad news...it sells and gets higher ratings cause more people tune in. Would you rather see a dog maul a grown man, on wildest police videos or a baby being held by the mother?
Beware the white text!
--consider that your disclaimer.
What about a baby being held by the mother being mauled by a dog and an old man? Maybe I should suggest this to fox 13 and make a bomb.
The media is (almost) all owned by corporate entities. They are in business to make a profit. They need the highest television and radio ratings, and the highest newspaper and magazine circulation numbers. Since people want to see "bad" news, that's what they get.
News is also getting very homogenized...it's getting to be the same, no matter where you go. Sinclair, the media empire that owns a lot of TV stations, many in rural areas, produces local news broadcasts for a lot of their markets at their headquarters. That includes weather. The weatherman can't even look out the window to see if it really is raining. He has to trust the radar.
Some bad news, like people's personal tragedies, is a waste to endlessly cover. But some bad news in the government arena doesn't get nearly enough coverage. People think everything is just fine, until it all starts to fall apart, as it is now in certain areas.
What good news do you think should be covered? Keep in mind that the non-commercial time on the nightly new broadcast is less than 30 minutes. And news magazines are already focused on feature stories rather than news. At this point there's not much investigative journalism going on. That is very bad.
