i didnt know where to ask this. i am 16 about to turn 17 really soon. i am wondering if not being able to have fully grown facial hair is abnormal or if it means something. i can grow like long peach fuzz mustache and short hair on my chin but nothing that i actually need to shave like every one else my age. i cant grow side burns either.does this mean that i dont have alot of testosterone or something.thanks.this is my first post.

Dude, Don’t rush it... Shaving everyday sucks! It really depends on your ethnical background. Does your father or brother (If you have one) have a lot of body hair?Personally, I am the missing link. I have hair in places where hair shouldn’t be. You could shave my ass and make me walk backwards and not tell the difference... (A little drastic, but you get what I mean…) I could grow a full beard in the 6th grade. My brothers on the other hand, are as sooth as a baby’s butt. I think my bro was 21-22 before he could grow a mustache and sideburns...Don’t sweat it... It will happen when it’s time…..

WElcome to A2A, illmatic! Not all 17 year olds are shaving, and most of those who are aren't shaving daily. As other people have said, some people have hairier genes than others, and there's a big advantage in having less-hairy genes. Shaving soon stops being a mark of manliness and becomes just a chore. Not having a lot of hair doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your testosterone levels, if the other signs of puberty are fine.

If it wasn't for the fact that my brother and I look virtually identical and that my father looks like an older version of us, I'd swear I'm adopted because I've been hairy all over since I was about 13 and need to shave twice a day if I'm going out in the evening. In contrast, my brother shaves only once every 2-3 days and has nothing more than a slight stubble and my father has virtually no hair.My great-grandfather and I are the only hairy males in my family.

I'm 16 and have to shave everyday and it sucks

im almost 20, and i STILL only shave like once every 2 days, and thats just because i start to get a shadow, not because its furry or anything.its nothing to worry about, but just fyi, apparently, the more often you shave, the faster the hair grows back. i dont understand why, but i can tell you first hand that this is, in fact, true.Dave
-
That is FALSE. Also, it is false that if you shave, it grows back thicker and darker.
-
It is not true.If you let hair in certain areas grow out all the way and then shave, you can get the illusion that it grows faster after you shave it. But even that doesn't apply to your face, if you shave it regularly.

Im 18 and can only grow sideburns. I dont care cus shavings anoying. I only get peach fuzz on my face, i have a few black areas but I just shave them off. Why do you even care about face hair?
-
i was not to worried about it i was wondering because most people my age already shave. just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with me.

Oh ok, well id say about 90% of guys your age need to shave (because peach fuzz looks dumb) and about 50% of those people grow dark face hairs. Thats just a rough estimate from friends I know.
