When I have kids, I will have them circumsized. In my opinion I think they look better. In some cultures, a bone through the nose is very chic. I suppose it's a good thing that your dad isn't from one of them. The one reason you chose to post (and you did choose to post it) seems a rather lightweight justification for a surgical procedure that does make a difference.> I don't have to justify myself to you You may have to justify yourself to your son.

If you had kids...
-
jeez I never knew that being circumsized was such a big pride thing for you guys. Well my guy and I have talked and debated about it for a very long time.
-
Pride has nothing to do with it. Perhaps you skipped over all of the reasons given above why circumcision may not be a good idea.
How do you feel about the female genital mutilation that's commonly performed in north Africa? Most fathers in those cultures think that an infibulated vagina looks better on a girl.
-
Look, I don't want to get into a fricken debate with you. I have my reasons and there is nothing you can do about it. Like I said before. My guy and I have thought about it and have debated about it for a long time. We have made up our mind and that's it. Now go and debate this crap with someone else. B/c I don't care what you have to say
-
Jeeeez, no one forced you to post to this thread in the first place. If you think about it, posting something like "I'm going to do it because I think it looks better" will definitely cause a reaction. If that's all you had to say, what was the point?I sure hope you have some better reasons than that. You seem to have trouble articulating them, whatever they may be.If I were your son and I knew that you actually thought about it and debated it, and still went ahead with it, I'd be pretty pissed at you. My perspective is a guy's, so I don't know how meaningful it is to you.
-
What do you think looks better? one that is or isn't?
My penis has to be the sexiset thing on my body! and im uncircumcied!
-
I have a willy.
-
I don't really care how it looks.
-
you know what. I'm not even reading your foolish reply b/c I really don't care. Go ahead and debate everyone else.
-
If his reply was foolish, then how should we describe the reply you just posted?
-
your opinions are from a guy's point of view. Plain and simple. I don't need to justify my guy's and my own actions to any of you. We have our reasons and that's final. P.S. Why do you care what we do? Why are you so against of being circumsized?
-
No one is. Do you just go by looks?
-
Did I ever mention if you should or should not get circumcised?
-
if you read anything that I said before, then you would know your answer. But to be nice and answer your question. That is not the only reason. I never said that was the only reason
-
So why do you keep posting to this thread? And why are you getting so angry?Seriously, if you come to a thread where there's at least a somewhat serious discussion going on in a few places, and you say that you're going to have your son circumcised because you think it looks better (period), why would you expect not to be ridiculed? You said something ridiculous. You were apparently not impressed with the arguments laid out in my earlier post in this thread:In reply to:The foreskin contains a huge number of nerve ending. The foreskin protects the head of the penis, which is a mucous membrane. When the foreskin is removed, the head dries out and becomes like ordinary skin. The head of the penis also has a lot of nerve endings, and is very sensitive. When it's not protected by the foreskin, it's always being rubbed by the underpants, which reduces sensitivity. The foreskin serves a purpose during intercourse, it has been argued.Circumcisions occasionally go wrong (with infections and other potential complications), causing grief for the recipient of the surgery. If the boy decides for himself that he wants to be circumcised when he's old enough to make an informed decision, so be it. But why would you think you have the right to decide on his behalf?Or maybe you were, since you didn't reply to any of them. The same arguments, and other, have been posted in many threads. You sound like you just came to this thread to kick some sand, fold your arms, turn around, and march off. It may feel good but it doesn't really benefit anyone. So far no one has given a good reason not to let the boy decide for himself (other than saving him the memory of the pain of surgery; give an adult some Versed, and you'll achieve the same result).
-
I never said that was the only reason We're not psychics. You chose to post to a circumcision discussion thread your reasoning for why you'd have your son circumcised. No one forced you to do so. The reason you did give was pretty lame. What kind of reaction were you expecting?I care what you do to your son. I care what my neighbor does to his children. I car what north Africans do to their children. It's called "being civilized".

If I came here to do that, do you think I would have 70 some posts? If I was here to do that, then I wouldn't waste my time here.
-
The African people "are civillized" in their own way. but FGM should stop, you've explained it already. I still say if we go by looks uncircumcised is better. Angel says so!
-
I would like to reply, if you would like to listen! I respect your decision to circumcise your future or maybe present boys - that is your choice, for what ever reason. When I was 6 years old, my Mother & Father had me circumcised - it was not my choice but their's. And when I got older, I disliked them for it. But, I did something about it and made my on choice to reverse my circ with the help of a good urology doctor, I now have my foreskin back; not the original equipment but a working foreskin that I am very happy with. It was my choice! Thank you one and all.

I know we all have choices to make and I guess the biggest is when we might have kids. Having kids has got to be one of life biggest choices - to bring another life into this world. Now I dont personally have any kids but from friends I have it has totally changed their lives. Just the amazement of the miracle of creating a life. As parents they have many many choice to make about the life they are bring into this world. And if a boy one of the choices would be weather to ciircumise him or not. Do we really dount that the parents best interest is at heart if they make this choice for theeir new born son.I know of peeople who have had kids but have never given them the injections they are required to protect them against disease etc. Are we too doubt that these parents dont have their childs best interest at heart. These new borns rely on their parents to protect them for the first 18 or so year of their life until they leave home and live on their own.Just as newborns can't choice wheather they want to be cut or not - they also can't choose as to weather they want the injections that protect them from life threating dieases in future life.If they want the injections later in life it may be to late to be any effective use to them. The parents have chosen to put ther childs life at risk without maybe even thinking of what might happen later in life.We do not kick up a fuss if parent choose not to give them life saving injections but we do over cutting a new born baby. While I know everyone has choice to make about rasing boys I dont think it is such a big issue that people need to get irate at each other on this board. It seems like some people are really pissed that their parents made a choice for them at birth and are really upset that they did this.I think as I have said before there are far bigger things to worry about than if your parents had you cut as child.
