aw, I'm disappointed no one mentioned the UK when trying to distinguish between Britain and England! lol. United Kingdom includes Northern Ireland too (doesn't it?). While we're on the subject of where folks are from...any South Africans? One of my mates lives in South Africa, and he has the yummiest accent! Even better than Australian! Oh and Angleterre is England, I'm fairly sure. There's a different word for Britain, but I haven't done French for a long time.
-
I didnt bring up the UK because I couldnt be bothered to go through the whole thing I know alot of South Africans! Tried to get with this South African girl ocne but alas it did not happen.
-

South Africans? Did we not conquer them, acutally rather easly! good with we had automatic guns while they had...spears?

Angleterre is England and Grande Bretagne is Great Britain. I think I've got a good mixing pot going on, going back 5 generations I can say I have some... French, English, Scotish, Irish (sorry no Welsh SYL), Maori (NZ "natives") and apparently some German. And if I end up having kids they should have all that and some Polish, Croatian and Spanish.
The world's just one big mixing pot these days.

In reply to: Isnt Ireland the land of drunks and convicts No, Ireland is the land of Nobel Prize winners WB Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett and Seamus Heaney. Actors Gabriel Byrne, Kenneth Branagh, Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell, Richard Harris and Oscar Winner Daniel Day-Lewis.Musicians Van Morrison, Phil Lynott, The Cranberries, The Corrs and Sinéad O'Connor.Athletes Ronan O'Gara, Damien Duff, Ronnie Delany, Eddie Jordan, Sonia O'Sullivan and Padraig Harrington. In reply to: in all of history of europe thats were the most violence has happend? Have you ever heard of Rome? There has been as much violence in Irish history as in any other cultures, even less! We had no part in the World Wars apart from volunteers. The most violence from us was when we were fighting for freedom from the British. 900 years of oppression kinda gets to you, ya know. But we defended our island from the Romans. We have an undefeated (illegal) army. We have the Irish Army Rangers, regarded internationally as one of the most elite special operations units in the world, along with the British SAS and the United States' Marines. We have a History that goes back to nearly 8000 BC, some of the world's earliest art was developed in Ireland.Beat that little Canadian boy!

Lol Nicely Done Bob, Your still the least 'Dislike Country' in Europe though, hey survery says, never been to Ireland, and dont want to, one of my irish friends told me she came here cause all of the violence with IRA and other junk, Is ireland really that dangerous, even dangerous as America!? Tell me Bob!
-
Bob lives in the Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland, which is part of Britain, is a different matter, and is indeed a place which has seen a great deal of violence.
-
Thats all i ever hear of Ireland, even from the Irish themselves! My Community is mostly filled with Portuguese, Irish and Romanians, some Hungarians and Greeks, and Italians, lol no Africans here. Even ask Pink Why are they fighting again?
-
Northern Irleand, or Ulster, is a part of the United Kingdom, rather than Bob's republic.A minority of the population of Ulster want to join the Republic, and are willing to use violence to further such aims. Aswell as the violence in Ulster itself, these groups have set bombs off in mainland Britain. Aswell as the republican terrorists there are also terrorist-paramilitary groups that have formed to support British rule by killing republicans. The British government and army does what it can to stop both sides fighting, and has siad if ever 55% of Ulster supprots joining the Republic in a refferendum then it may do so.Its important to note that most of the republicans (people who wnat to join the republic) are catholic, while those who wnat to stay part of Britain (i.e. the majority of the population) are protestant. So the conflict is religeous aswell as political.Currently the largest terrorist-paramilitary groups on booth sides are in a state of cease fire, though there are also a few groups who have refused to accept peace. The violence does spread to Britain and the Irish republic in various ways. Last year there was a riot in Dublin, and in Scotland Irish decended catholics and Scottish protestants like to beat each other uyp at football matches.

Poor Bob, and other Irish have to live through this.. No wonder its the least liked country!(in Europe). Ireland is so going down... Cant England and Scotland help or something?
-
No, poor bob does not ahev to live with it any more than I do, infact Britishers take the blunt of it more than the Irish of the Republic. You ahve to understand that two nations live on the island of Ireland. Bob lives in the one that doesnt have the terrorism. And what do you mena England and Scotland help? I dont think you understand. Britain (ie the united peoples of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), rules Northern Ireland. Its part of my country, you see? Northern Irleand is part of the same country as England and Scotland. So what do you mean by help? We do "help" in that we try to keep our land peaceful. My dad served in Norther Ireland back when the violence was at its worse. The Irish Republic where Bob lives is fine. Apparantly they get the occasional stupid riot but they dont have to deal with paramilitary groups killing each other....thats the shit we the British have to put up with.
-
Sad Days In Europe! Well you are the British English whatever! you conquered countries and destroyed villages. Its not to late to take them under your power, Can't you conquer them now with your army?
-
Me too
-
I thought it was about work. There is a hig unemployment rate, so they blow up the buildings, then the brittish hire them to build new ones ( cheaper to hire locals then to send your own people to build your building back after its been bombed)then they blow it up again and get paid to rebuild it.are you certain its political and not just job security ?
-
that was true, or is true rather, but in america it was the strict religous quakers that were sent here, it was to colonize and they dint want any criminal running around fucking shit up and getting out of hand and rvolting against the king, little did they know fthats what they would eventually get anyways.
-
Nahhh they dont need jobs, they get their money from drug dealing and American businessmen. Thats why they call it Sicily without the sun
